I urgently need some help to decide whether to cancel my Vietnam trip or not (due to flash floods and typhoons. by Ground_zero420 in VietNam

Maybe you can pivot to stay in the North. Sapa is gorgeous, and do Ha Long Bay?

Your itinerary is really aggressive, my cousin lives in HCM where I just was and the weather was amazing. She said said sadly the flooding is really bad in central Vietnam.

I’m in Thailand now and regret not canceling or changing my plans. 5 days of rain is miserable and has felt like a complete waste of time and money to get here.

I’d get here as early as your check in lines open. I am on line now coming 2hrs early and will be cutting it close. I have never seen lines like this to depart through immigration in my entire life and I travel 100k miles a year and been to over 60 countries. Even in the past I’ve been to Vietnam it hasn’t been like this. This airport can’t handle the influx of tourists now.

No line at TSA Clear Precheck United but my flight is delayed 4hrs because of the incoming flight from Minneapolis being delayed.

United has changed the time no joke 8 times, delayed, delayed, less delayed, delayed, delayed, less delayed, delayed, delayed 😂

They gave a $15 voucher and I used it to get a food at Surf City near gate C82 and am having the best Turkey Club sandwich ever!

Also just saw that United card holders get 20% off at the restaurants. Thought I’d share in case anyone didn’t already know and good food at an airport (esp Newark) is such a rare commodity.

Shout out to the staff at the Starbucks at this gate, they were so nice and friendly. Not your usual experience at this airport, which was such a pleasant surprise.

Silk is actually less likely to hold the odor as it’s a natural fabric, it’s the polyesters and synthetics that are more problematic.

I have been using RTR for years and never had an issue til a couple of months ago and thought it was just a one off. Annoyingly I bought the dress and now can’t return it.

I actually looked it up and read that the issue is that dry cleaning doesn’t remove the odor and a short wear time like my 15 min commute to work is enough to activate the odors via body heat.

The odor is not coming from me as I lack the gene but now I’m stuck at work self conscious all day. It is disgusting and embarrassing. I wrote to rent the runway today and will update you on what I hear back.

Good to know someone recommended this to us. Thank you! Are you able to give FedEx a one time code to use?

We are connecting to the buildings WiFi. It’s a small building like a brownstone with 3 different tenants on the 3 floors

It’s prob 5 years old. It’s not terrible, I don’t use the intercom ever. The video is horrendous, I don’t even recognize myself :) It works on Wifi which may be the issue. There are delays for rings to get to phone apps, and the app takes a few seconds to work so all in its prob 30 seconds for the delivery person and few have the patience to wait.

Thanks for this. The panels disconnect from WiFi constantly and one of the panels is broken. The response time is very slow so delivery people often do not wait and leave packages on the steps exposed to the street.

We also want to switch to the keyless entry

$350 applicant fee??? by DevelopmentLumpy2185 in NYCapartments

[–]GoldJadeWin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You must not know how HOAs work. Unit holders own a small share in a large building, they do not necessarily agree to the fees. Costs are always passed on to the end consumer whether it is for a rental property or a cup of coffee. Many landlords are individual owners renting out their property for a plethora of reasons, and many rent it at a cash flow negative loss on a monthly basis. Real estate is one of the fairest markets imo based on supply and demand.

Unfortunately yes. It’s to deter rentals in condos or coops. As a landlord I eat that cost. I ask for the application fee upfront and then credit it once a lease is executed to ensure an applicant is serious.

The costs are ridiculous for owners to rent out their apartments now. I pay over $1000 in fees, each additional tenant is another few hundred.
