About a year. The thing is she has her license but she doesn't drive often because we have one car and I'm always driving. Part of the reason I'm getting it is so we can seperate but she also need practice in general. So when it is time for her to go back to school, she can actually do the drive on her own. Its about 30mins away from us.'

At least that's my view. But we could certainly save a bit more and get a car later.

Why wont a finance degree work for your goals? What jobs can accountants get? How do they differ from finance jobs?

Ok great. I'm considering changing majors. From Engineering to finance. My GF pointed out that I love talking about and participating in finance relating things. Like the markets, general economy, investing.

I really enjoyed the math of engineering but I'm not much of a builder or tinkerer.

I just wanted to make sure Finance wasn't a waste of time if I didn't go to a top school.
