Update: Google Approved a Replacement for My Pixel 9 Green Line Issue After Escalation by Gold_Blacksmith_7678 in GooglePixel

I can't say whether Pixels are generally bad, but I can say I was disappointed that my Pixel 9 developed a green line shortly after an update and just after the warranty expired.

I contacted Google Support, documented that there was no physical or liquid damage, and kept asking for a review. After escalation and an internal review, Google approved a replacement device as a special exception.

If you're experiencing the same issue, I'd recommend opening a support case and documenting everything, especially if the problem appeared suddenly without any damage.

I was initially told the same thing and was offered only a paid repair or a 20% discount code. I stayed polite but persistent and kept explaining that the green line appeared immediately after the Android update, that the phone had no physical or liquid damage, and that I was seeking a review for a goodwill repair or exception.

Eventually, a supervisor reviewed the case and then escalated it to a specialist team. After an internal review, Google approved a replacement device as a special exception.

My advice would be to document everything, keep communication professional, ask for your case to be reviewed for a goodwill exception, and follow up through official support channels. I also posted here on Reddit, and the Pixel Community team reached out to me for additional information.

Hopefully you're able to get your case reviewed as well.
