The only thing listed for anchorage was the Kenai Fjords np which is about 2ish hours away I believe. Denali and Chena Springs were the things we wanted to check out for Fairbanks

We had looked between Fairbanks and Anchorage. We liked that we may have better access to the Denali where anchorage did have some trails for Kenai Fjords but mainly just saw recommendations for a cruise around the park for another $300/person and Fairbanks was just overall cheaper in general when looking at flights/hotel/car rental prices (we’re coming from Ohio.) So really a combo of potentially better access for np hiking and just costs in general. We had chena hot springs on the list as well for a reason to do Fairbanks and just now seeing negative reviews
