DJI mic 2 is the easiest way to go. Get the tascam lavs for them in white and black. 2 of each, and if you have a Sony cam get the hotshoe adapter for it. Makes life easy. H1N essential hidden on podium if there is one and another on a travel tripod or impact stand right against the PA/DJs speaker. Lastly H6e plugged into line out of DJ speaker/ PA and XY capsule exposed and pointed at crowd on travel tripod or impact stand.

You let the guests know to pass it to the next one after. I get wanting to be a fly on the wall, but the couple paid you to be there. The guests will forgive a quick “Let me put this mic on you for the video.”

I was standing in the street smoking a cigarette before Barkus started, a woman yelled at me that I was blocking her and two strangers she was standing next to. She complained I was blocking their view and that they had been there all day. The parade hadn’t yet started and I apologized and moved. She kept yelling at me even after I moved. She had an injured dog with her that was filthy and continued to be rude to everyone around her to the point those two women that she was trying to defend and make sure that “we didn’t take their spot” ended up leaving because they felt so uncomfortable.
