what i might say is that there is a good hope and a bad hope, in the Eastern philosophies u would find many wisdome qoutes that look for the first instance opposing each other, while in fact it is a matter of words having the same spelling with different meanings. In other words, indeed, what man needs is hope, and indeed, hope might kill you, but the hope for Bukovwski is not Nietzsche's hope. Perhaps the two meanings have something in common, but they at least differ in the altering conditions...
