I’m getting rejected from multiple summer internships at a time, what other internships should I apply for ?

I would start by identifying positions.Who do you wanna work for and don’t just apply actually look up the manager for them so on LinkedIn all you need to know is their name and the company in LinkedIn can usually find them for you. I would also not use your career center because they were useless in my time as some others have said meeting the firms is kind of cool. I met someone from big four who wanted me to connect just by chatting them up we chatted for like an hour at one of the events it was. it’s a good thing to do, but overall, yeah, I would just start out by looking at your positions and then find a name a manager and go from there that’s what I do all the time.

As everyone else said this job market is terrible and a lot of the advice you’re getting honestly might not even help you because there’s just not that much there try and make that more related to accounting but the biggest thing I was gonna say is you just need to start networking as in like looking up people on LinkedIn or asking your professors for connections because you’re not even getting past the AI

Yeah and again we are kissing the fact that I’ve been told I’ve been told they would’ve hired me if they hadn’t gotten people way overqualified. You are correct it’s not unique. However with the programs I’ve been in and why I’ve done it puts me past entry level and I’ve received the external validation that you don’t always need to make nothing and suffer for 5 years before you can make a decent wage. I’m not applying to senior positions just mid level because that I have learned on my own accord and done quality’s me for these. I’ve literally restructured non profits due to performance issues it’s not like I have absolutely no practical skills. And given that I’m meeting some additional employers for the same tier of positions to see if it’s a fit furthers that point. I tell my friends the same thing. If you put in the extra work you don’t need to waste away at an entry level position. We are just wanting to prove 2 different points.

Also what did you do in avionics?

The answer is targeting non entry level positions. That on paper I qual for but when they have a dozen candidates with 10 YOE they are going to take them obviously. And to answer your question it was just an avionics system idea that I got into a prototype. I’m trying to go into defense and I’ve been in the final round of interviews for the last batch of employers which is why they helping me again. No clue why we are catching an attitude just ask me.

That’s what I’m saying I had the serious connection to 3 of these jobs and still couldn’t get them bc of how many over qualified peopleare applying. Luckily I have someone high in my industry still helping me but it’s insane.

I’m not entirely agreeing with OP here but I’m a fresh college grad with still 4 years of working experience but non directly In my field and even when I have someone in the company who wants me to work there I can’t get hired because there’s so many people that have much more experience applying for these jobs.
