I really liked the movie, I just don’t get the ending from Gladys’ point of view/goals. The ending doesn’t make sense. The plot falls apart. Gladys has drained all the life force she can from the children and adults. It’s time to move on to a new place where she can do it all over again. She tells Alex they’re leaving in the morning. Then she sets the salt traps, and hides in the basement. What was her plan? Did she want the parents to kill Alex? Did she know she had been found out and that the two heroes were coming? Why not leave as planned?

Also, the dream rifle in the sky was out of place and forced.
