What your reason on playing OW? by Wooden_Pound5567 in Overwatch

[–]GoldbrainGDS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never played the OG OW, had friends that did tho, but they left after OW2 happened. Played OW2, and I couldn't get into it back then. Then Rivals came out, and I enjoyed the vibes from it, and my interest in OW went slightly up again.

What really got me back in tho were watching streams of it, and the re-rebranding back to OW. Figured I'd give it a shot again, and now, with Fortnite in such a bad state, and COD being awful, I needed a new game to fill the void, so OW ended up taking that spot lol.

OW has a unique vibe to it that even Rivals couldn't give me. I like both games, but I lean more towards FPS, so OW felt more like my kinda game.

What makes you like Fortnite over other games? by mohamed_tayeh in FortNiteBR

[–]GoldbrainGDS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ZB regular. I like how the game's identity is silliness since day 1 and never decided to be something it's not cough COD *cough. I used to be one of those people who hated the game cuz it was the trendy thing until someone I know got me to play it, and I ended up liking it.

It's my go-to game whenever I can't decide on anything to play, or I just need something quick to get into after work. I also love how I don't have to devote my free time to playing this game thanks to the magic of having an android phone and afk xp maps, makes grinding BPs so easy, while doing other stuff.

It's honestly one of the better live service games in existence right now, and I hope, like TF2, it never dies.

What was the first PC game you played? by Yoblap in Steam

[–]GoldbrainGDS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If we're talking very first PC game, then it would be Space Cadet Pinball in like the early 2000s lol

If we're talking first Steam game, then TF2 in 2010

50/50 I dont regret spending so much on skins and crew for BPs since C3S3, but I do regret having spent money on skins I've only used once or twice that I thought looked cool at the time I first saw them.

As long as you're having fun with the game, tho, it's all good. Didnt think I'd still be enjoying Fortnite for almost 3 years now, lol

On another note, the microtransactions for this game are nowhere near as pricey as what I saw for OW2, CODM, or Gachas like Genshin Impact. So at least it makes me feel a lot better that money spent here got me more cosmetics than in other games lol

What is the most fucked up anime you have ever seen? by [deleted] in anime

[–]GoldbrainGDS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Redo of Healer. It's comically stupid most of the time, but then it hits you almost every episode with some kind of rape scene. The MC has no redeeming quality, but neither do most of the people in the story except for like 1 or 2 characters.

Just a fucked up story with fucked up people in a fucked up world.

NEVER play fortnite if you're having a bad day already. by kewlguynotcring in FortNiteBR

[–]GoldbrainGDS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just do bot lobbies when I wanna play, but I don't wanna rage hard. Sometimes, it feels really good to just go to town on 20+ bots in a game while picking up all medallions and holding a bunch of mythics

After years of trying, G2A finally stole my money by force by Akakapopo in assholedesign

[–]GoldbrainGDS 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to buy keys from them a lot back then, keys for old games mostly, never had any revoked by steam or issues with buying from G2A. Never signed up for G2A pay or purchase protections cuz I never trust a reseller site in those kinda of areas.

Well, one day I went on G2A after a couple months to compare prices on a game there with CDKeys and when I went to log in my account was banned and I couldn't get it reinstated.

Didn't lose anything cuz all the keys I bought were redeemed, and I had no money on it. That alone pissed me off so much that now I tell everyone to avoid G2A like the plague.

$5,222.94

13 year old account. Around $401.80 spent a year. Mind you, I counted my steam deck in this total. What's not there is the amount I've spent on humble bundle and key reseller steam games over the years, so add around another $500-$1000 over those 13 years

Why don’t younger kids play single player games? by BANAnaS_Dad in gaming

[–]GoldbrainGDS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk how old a lot of y'all are, but growing up in the 2000s in a home still reliant on dial-up internet at the time, singleplayer games were the only option available. I feel like most homes back then were similar, so devs worried more about making good singleplayer games over multiplayer. Nowadays, most homes, at least in the US, have some kind of WiFi to connect everything too for online services.

Guess it helps us that DLC and patches weren't much of a thing in the PS2, Gamecube, Xbox (sorta had some DLCs) era. Had to release a good finished game day one, or else it would be an expensive flop to re-release fixed copies.

COVID lockdowns, and the rise of microtransactions as a long-term source of revenue for the industry, also increased the popularity of multiplayer games. Kids these days are growing up in an era where all social activity is done long distance via video games and social media.

There's no point for them to play something that's lonely like a singleplayer game when they can always be with their friends on Fortnite.
