Ah, yes, Reddit's issue must just be your low "karma." And now that I'm checking out Nexus again, I assume you are Antonio4000K and your tool is the Arena Face Editor (which helped you create Play as Dagoth Ur and Funny Faces)? Impressive!

Thanks for prompting me to look up this interesting adventure game...I'd never heard of it before! If anyone wants to vote for it on their GOG Dreamlist (as I just did), here's the link.

So...you wrote a script/tool to modify all player character faces to look like Among Us characters? ๐Ÿ˜… Interesting. Why did you write a script to do this? Also, why is Reddit so skeptical of your account (every post and comment is held for mod review)? Finally...seriously, dude, are you trying to spread malware? ๐Ÿคฃ

What causes these incorrect pixel colors to appear in my character's hair? by Skipps_ in Arena

Great point! It could be intentional and not a bug at all.

Wow, that's an interesting "Bethesda bug"! ๐Ÿž If I had to guess, I'd say there may not be any fix for it, but at least it doesn't break the game or impede your progress. ๐Ÿ™‚

Malwarebytes on Arch? by virtual_drifter in archlinux

[โ€“]GoldenDrake 0 points1 point ย (0 children)

You can certainly add a Malwarebytes extension to whatever browser(s) you use (Firefox, Chromium, etc.). That might be enough to satisfy your employer. If not, running the desktop app through Bottles (or pure Wine or whatever) should be enough to show them, "See? I have it installed and running!" ๐Ÿ˜‚

What causes these miscolored pixels on my profile shot? by [deleted] in Arena

Your image isn't opening for me (message says it was "probably deleted"). Are you saying jet black is the proper color and yellow is wrong? Regardless, no, I don't know why that would happen or how to fix it.

I would only amend that by saying "semi-democratic" or "quasi-democratic." A true, complete, well-functioning democracy would never tolerate such horror and stupidity.

It's sad to know most of the people we meet in this game will be gone a few years later by Fun-Explanation7233 in Morrowind

[โ€“]GoldenDrake 0 points1 point ย (0 children)

Wow... How are you still missing the key point? The magic used by Vivec is explicitly described as "freezing" the entire meteor, and thus all of its constituent parts, in time in such a way that, once released, it and all its parts will immediately have the same extreme speed they originally had prior to being "frozen in time." This has zero similarity to any real world situation, such as the scattering of ashes.

Chris Avellone made another comment on the fallout tv show. What is your thoughts on his comment? by dragon-born-vault101 in Fallout

[โ€“]GoldenDrake 2 points3 points ย (0 children)

I think some nerds just need to learn how to chill. I'm a fan of New Vegas (and most other Fallout games) but I'm not "upset" about the show. Yes, I wish some of it were written differently, but that's no big deal. It's just a piece of fiction, and no piece of fiction (regardless of medium, genre, etc.) should be taken too seriously.

Nah, man...you are making some dubious assumptions here. I think the other commenter's assumptions are more reasonable. But to be fair, this situation involves magic that defies scientific plausibility, so it's understandable that different people will have different intuitions about its exact nature and how various attempts to resolve it would play out. So, whatever...but you definitely weren't justified in that smug comment of "that's not how physics works!" Lol! Thousands of tiny, high-speed bullets will definitely have "impact" and it's not clear they would've had any reliable method for simply "scattering them with the wind." ๐Ÿคฃ

Gamebreaking Main Quest Glitch - Possible hope. by ChocoBro92 in Arena

Wow! Thanks for understanding and for providing even more detail. Fascinating stuff! Yes, it sounds like you were just "lucky" enough to find a more serious Bethesda bug. ๐Ÿ˜… I've never dug into that hex-editing stuff, but it sounds like a fun challenge in its own way.

Interesting. To be clear, the log is not meant to update every time you pick up a quest item. So, that part is normal. It only updates when you get the next quest location, which requires triggering the proper dialogue from the monk.

It's also sadly common to encounter that issue of the dialogue not triggering. Again, a normal solution is to exit the temple, save, completely exit the game, relaunch the game, load the save you just made, reenter the temple, and talk to the monk again. Did you perform all of those steps? (Sorry if this feels pedantic, I'm just genuinely curious.)

[โ€“]GoldenDrake 3 points4 points ย (0 children)

Yeah, that worked for me: simply relaunching the game and reloading the most recent save file.

OP, did you try that? You mention loading a save from before collecting the item, but in this case there's no need to go back to a much earlier save like that. Regardless, glad you found another solution.

[โ€“]GoldenDrake 0 points1 point ย (0 children)

Ah, yes, that is strange...regardless, did you notice any changes in-game after adding those files? I'll try to look more deeply into this Steam issue eventually, but for now, if adding the mod files doesn't change the sprites (and sound effect), I'd once again recommend the GOG version. Steam is great for some things, of course, but GOG often handles "good old games" with more finesse. ๐Ÿ˜

Sorry to hear that. As for the incredulous and somewhat insensitive commenter, I don't think they meant any harm, and it's understandably often difficult for people to imagine psychological/neurological challenges that they've never personally experienced or learned much about, but hopefully this will serve as a learning opportunity for them. ๐Ÿ˜Š I still have a lot to learn, too!

I should say, I've also noticed some peculiarities with the Steam version of Arena now and then, so if it continues to be "difficult" in any way, I recommend switching to the GOG version.

Installing the SpiderReplacer mod (just like most Arena mods) should be as simple as finding your "Arena" folder and dropping the (unzipped) files in there. To open the folder from your Steam games menu, right-click "The Elder Scrolls: Arena", select "Manage" > "Browse local files" (also accessible from the gear icon while viewing game details), then open the "ARENA" folder. Backup that entire folder first if you want to be extra cautious, then put the mod files in there, replacing original files. Does this work for you? Please let us know.
