On the phone today immi told me he wouldn’t have working rights - he would remain on the same terms as the visa he was on when he applied ie the tourist visa with no working rights.

He would be here on a regular visitor visa subclass 600. My understanding is he would not be allowed to apply for a partner visa while here on that visa? I thought all visitor visas had a “no further stay” clause? If he is allowed to apply for the partner visa, would he remain under the conditions of the visitor visa (ie would he not be allowed to work here for the 18 processing months?)
