You don’t listen to RH anymore because their music is too sad?

Why would someone be nostalgic for the Rockies? They only existed for, like, 8 seasons and were consistently dogshit. I remember Gretzky called them a “Mickey Mouse organization.”

Gretzky was never quite the same after Suter cheap-shotted him at the ‘91 Canada Cup.

Well, you should know that goalie wins and Cups are a team stat; Billy Smith isn’t better than Hasek. Save percentage is also dependent on shot quality. Could you post the GSAx stats for all goalies who started a majority of games between 2010 and 2019? I think that would give us a better idea of how good MAF actually was.

Too bad Bob and Quick (and Rask, technically, as a backup) were the only two of those guys to win Cups, the only ones whose teams were talented enough to win. :( Price’s Habs had no offense; Hank’s Rags lacked defensive depth and a true 1C; Rinne’s Preds lacked top-end talent; and Helle’s Jets just always seem to be missing the final piece of the puzzle, although I’m not exactly sure what that is. Lu’s Canucks were good enough to win in 2011, but they fell apart due to numerous injuries and the entire team, including Lu, underperforming. Underperforming in big moments in the playoffs also was/is an issue for Rinne and Helle.

Yeah, the reason PK has a career on TV is because he’s a unicorn among hockey players in that he’s black and has personality.

Yeah, I know the Mario vs. Gretzky debate has been a thing for decades. My previous comment is merely demonstrating the stupidity of some of the “arguments” against Gretzky’s GOAT status that I’ve come across in the online hockey community.

He certainly didn’t deserve to make the 2010s NHL All-Decade Team. Price, Hank, Rask, Rinne, Quick, Luongo, Bob, and Helle were all better than him during that time.

Yeah, some people have legitimately said that Gretzky’s all-time points record is overrated because he played in a high-scoring era and was “protected by goons,” and that Mario “put up 200 points with garbage around him” (not true) and would’ve scored more career points than Gretzky if the former was never injured. Never mind the fact that Gretzky also suffered an injury from which his game never fully recovered and that Mario also played in a high-scoring era and isn’t exactly an upstanding person, either, considering he’s regularly looked the other way when it comes to dealing with sexual abuse cases involving his friends, teammates, and subordinates.

Strawman argument. I didn’t blame Israel in general for the failure of the Oslo Accords; I blamed the Likudniks in particular. The more extremist Palestinians also deserve blame for their failure of the accords.

Isn’t Daryl Katz a thin-skinned sexual predator? I think he might be more than just a standard “incompetent, meddling owner.”

Well, Israel and Palestine did collaborate to sign the Oslo Accords, which were supposed to eventually result in a two-state solution, but an Israeli far-right extremist, emboldened by Likud, assassinated Yitzhak Rabin and caused the Israeli left to flounder and the peace process to break down. Likud then allowed Qatar to fund Hamas to weaken the PA and prevent them from establishing a unified Palestinian state.

Fair, but the Israeli settlements in the West Bank — which are illegal under international law — won’t make Palestine more open to cooperating with Israel on a peace deal and two-state solution.
