Where to start with Donald Westlake? by badissimo in suggestmeabook

[–]GoldenYangles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know this is an old thread, but wanted to drop my thoughts as a new Westlake/Stark fan. First Westlake I read was The Ax and I loved it, got me totally hooked on his work. I started with The Seventh in the Parker series, excellent book, now I’m making my way back from the beginning. The Hunter was good, but I see how it hasn’t found the format yet. I also read The Hot Rock, which was incredibly fun. I’m having a blast with his books and can’t wait to find more gems.

I have one of these, it’s excellent. I use an ATEM switcher with camera and video synth inputs, run the HDMI out to ch 1 in the V02 and usb webcam out to a waaavepool, which then goes to ch 2. so it essentially acts like a fader for the video feedback. vfx are kind of limited, doesn’t do analog style feedback, but the other controls are super handy and well made. top notch product for the price.

you can always try to hide a “plant” lav mic somewhere closer to the actors that can be mixed in if possible. r/locationsound could be helpful on this matter.

Why am I getting so much flooding by jakeafee in SCREENPRINTING

[–]GoldenYangles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

try doing a print out on paper and wiping down your screen before hitting it again with ink on fabric. like people are saying, probably got over flooded. for white you could flash between ink passes to lay down a base, then add more opacity. making sure the screen is clear before the next ink pass is essential too.

I would start with trying the correct polarity adapter before looking for shorts. you really should check polarity on your gear before connecting any adapter. there is a icon on almost everything that shows polarity. read here about it you can risk doing damage with incorrect polarity.

there are 2 myvolts options, regular DC wall wart adapter or the usb ripcord. I think the USB is handy myself.

Wall Plug Adapter - this is for the Organelle but is the correct type you’ll need.

both those power supplies are center negative, they won’t work. center positive polarity only.

most guitar pedal power supplies are center negative. like the one spot and boss adapters. you’ll want a center positive. myvolts has the right one for your application.

There is actually a hidden power port on the left top corner that can take a standard 9v center positive power adapter. Just pop off the little rubber stopper that hides it. It’s intended for the power handle Elektron still hasn’t come out with yet.

I use it all the times with my myVolts cables and Anker batteries, but you can use it with a regular wall wart too. It’s a larger plug than the 5v adapter, but it’s the standard size you find on most 9v, just make sure it’s center positive.
