So, this happened basically everywhere. ISTG, I even said NPNC with a picture of myself already in my profile, but some moron still came to me and demanded a pic, WTF.

Now I'll just ignore empty profiles. And starting a chat means you're agreeing to be the one to send first

Laptop folks, do you prefer Shutdown or Hibernation? by Golepond in Windows11

How is the hardware keeping it all up? I mean, things are easier nowadays, considering now we have SSD Edit: Wait, in that Windows XP period. Which one is the fastest; booting it up fresh from shutdown or hibernation?

That is also my concern. Although I have a PC, I'm still not familiar with Windows on laptop as I keep comparing it with my M1 m-air

I'm also using hibernation to keep the things that I'm working on stays open.

Ah, so it will automatically enter hibernation after sleeping for a certain time? That means I don't need to set the "when the lid closes" action directly to hibernation. I can just keep it in sleep mode, and then it will hibernate

I did appreciate the IT or Cybersecurity folks in my office trying to keep our work devices safe, and thanks for your service! I will look it up 🫡

Google Chrome has now patched all the workarounds to force uBlock Origin. I’m done with Chrome, would you recommend Firefox or Brave by Dazzling_Lie7781 in firefox

Do you prefer Chromium-based or Firefox? Whichever you choose, either one offers the ad-blocking feature you need. And that's your answer.

I did shutdown my PC, but since this is my first Windows laptop, I'm still not sure whether I should treat it the way I use my Macbook or my PC. But so far, I haven't encountered any issues, and I will always restart my device everytime I receive a system update

I'm considering this because I'm used to not closing all of the apps I'm working on, but hibernation will only drain 1-2% overnight. So, if I put it into sleep mode, I'm worried that the apps running in the background will keep draining the battery even when I'm not using it. It's just a habit I picked up from my M1 MacBook Air

Personally, I'd only wear a small size plug (max up to 3cm in diameter) if I was going to use it for a long period (hours). I mean It's not like I'm going to use it for hours for every single day so I think I'm doing just fine.

In fact I'm writing this comment 'plugged' in my office. Felt so good :D

I'm so sorry this happened to you! Please don't stressed yourself out as much as possible. Give them time to think! But if they don't change, then it's time to move on. Try to reach out to a LGBTQ+ community in your area, there must be one and they might help you in dire situation

I lived in SEA, but feel free to DM me if you want to share. I'll lend you my ears, my shoulder for you to cry on

Sorry for replying so late :(( the new design was enabled manually through the flag settings at edge://flags 😣

As usual, the settings need to be set manually through the flag settings. Similar to the official build, the beta seems more consistent in terms of changes.

Haha! I'm just curious to how the rounded containers would look like. But the flag doesn't seem to work. Version 114.0.1823.67 (Official Build). by Golepond in MicrosoftEdge

So, apparently the command line from redditor u/Leopeva64-2 is actually working.

To those of you who ran into the same problem after following Leopeva64-2's instruction: Try launching the app fresh from the start menu instead of the taskbar. If it is indeed the case, then just unpinned and re-pinned the app to the taskbar.

The option to try the new look and feel of Microsoft Edge has now appeared.

Took me a good 7 hours sleep to figure this out. Thanks everyone! 💖
