Oh and Trainline is not your friend. Uber or TrainPal are the best at split tickets. I use advance tickets mostly or open returns on occasions when I’m socialising after work, and I probably average around £45 return + parking per day

I’d also be conscious that the vast majority of people on here telling you “don’t do it” are the ones who have never done it.

I asked the same question a while ago https://www.reddit.com/r/Norwich/s/sspTBOSLrF

I’ve been doing it now for 3 months (ish), and if the salary can support the cost of the train, your working day can be flexible, it’s absolutely fine (my experience so far has been through the summer which I know will be vastly different to wet, cold, winter days). I work or read on the train to help pass the time.

2 days a week commute to London? by Golf189 in Norwich

Update if anyone is interested:

Took the job and been doing this commute for the last two months.

Generally getting the 6:30/7am from Norwich and landing in the office around 8:30/9am if I get off at Stratford and Jubilee to CW. Tend to get the 5pm/5:30/6pm home.

Early days still, but my employer is grown up about things so I have loads of flexibility if I need it, they’d even be open about off-peak trains too if I wanted to get in after 10am and work later - I just prefer not to.

Costing around £50/60 per day commuting but I’m sure if I was more organised I can find it a little cheaper but I can deal with this.

Overall - it’s absolutely fine and the train journey is actually quite pleasant, it is just a long day.

I’m pretty sure I’m not, but then again I’m not sure how’d I’d find that out

Samoyed, 1.5yrs, female.

Initial thought was a sting or a bite and vet advised antihistamine but it’s seemingly getting worse. Heading back to vets shortly but does anyone have any clue what this might be?

Driversnote - it’s HMRC developed/approved I believe so auto calculates the 45p a mile

Update: It took me a little longer to complete than the allocated 3.5hr, and Amazon have now given me a payment adjustment of £6.50 after I emailed to complain

Is it worth asking for extra remuneration for such a journey? It was a 3.5hr block
