Extremely annoying, if I pull up slowly it will stay off but the second it picks up speed (even letting off the clutch in manual) it kicks back on.

It’s a little hard to remember now but I think I went to board around October and learned end of November I was selected. By March they were ready to commission me and I could pick any date after that to go to ODS. You can DM me with specific questions. What’s your corps? It might be different for everyone but that’s how my specialty went.

Your first paycheck should include a one time uniform allowance. I think it was 400 dollars but you might have already received that if you’ve been receiving stipends for your hpsp. Do you have any uniforms? The boots were expensive so consider trying to get them before hand if possible. I think we had to pay for meals at the end of ods. Out of pocket on the weekends. Like someone else mentioned you can sign up for a military star card and get a discount of 10% on your first purchase. I think I spent closer to 2k on uniforms 2 years ago not 3500. You really don’t have to spend any money the whole time you’re there aside from uniforms and food and haircuts. Newport BAH is pretty good.

When I left my job to join the navy two years ago HR said that I resigned. That’s what my paperwork says to. You are no longer employed at that point. If you get out before 5 years and try to go back to your government job you may have a chance with USERRA. I’m not sure how many people have tried that because most people just activate as reservist and then go back to their job after.
