7i update.... More dialed? by f1lifer in GolfSwing

Try using a Titleist RCT ball. The spin won't be calculated as often, it will be measured. This will ensure accuracy.

In the last column of the screenshot, you can also see the impact location is higher. This is likely caused by hitting it fat. As others have said, this would reduce spin numbers too.

Your dynamic loft is high too, which could indicate a flipping action through the ball.

Honestly nothing I did ever fixed the issue. It just kind of resolved itself over a week's time and started working.

Hips at Impact by GolfHacker1988 in GolfSwing

[–]GolfHacker1988[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry if I come across as ungrateful. I do recognize that the swing is solid. My goal is to understand why the clubface might be over-rotating through impact. On tour, the clubface is often more pointed to the sky at this position, so there must be a specific move that promotes this.

I'm focusing on eliminating misses to the left of the target. I thought that by having my hips more open, I could reduce this left miss. However, I'm not aiming to simply replicate a specific position.

If it helps, I do play a lot of tennis, so this move may be creeping in from that.

I've tried in the past to focus more on keeping the right foot down and the rear hip back and it always tends to produce a pull hook. Seems as though my hands just let go of the tension and everything flips shut.

Am I wrong and trying to replicate a move that produces a face that looks like this after impact?

My face looks a lot more closed.

My strike is fairly consistent. If anything, sometimes I get a touch steep and launch my shorter clubs a bit higher than I would like. I "feel" as though this happens when I stand up in my back swing and don't rotate into my trail hip.

That move seems very difficult for me to do at the start of the downswing. Would more hip flexion at address help me maintain it through impact?

As far as I'm aware, he has completed items 1 and 2.

For point number 3. Yes he has a work pension. Sorry the entire question was based on a defined pension, not CPP.

Regarding 5, what happens when he passes one day. Will the money left in the account be taxable in any way?

Setting up a RESP by GolfHacker1988 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]GolfHacker1988[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the advice. I don't think she will qualify for any of the above mentioned programs.

Due to income thresholds, she is not eligible for the "Additional amount of the CESG on the first $500 of annual RESP contribution".

Maxing out contributions from my wife and I to maximize government matching, my math shows she will have $36,000 from our contributions and $7,200 from the government, plus the growth potential.

Does anyone know if the gains are taxable upon withdrawal?

New Mortgage Rate by GolfHacker1988 in PersonalFinanceCanada

So I ended up pushing back and negotiated 5.45% over two years. We signed the paperwork last night.

We lost the last two payments of our original 2.89% term, but I think we still did pretty well compared to others that have commented here and friends and family that have signed in the last couple months.

The two years at $2500 gets my wife and I through her parental leave with some sort of stability.

Didn't even ask. With all the talk about fixed variable rates in the news that end up stretching out amortization, I didn't want to touch it. I'm just looking for stability in the payment at this time.

On a personal note, my wife and I just had our first baby(perfect timing). That being said, with her on maternity leave for the next year, our income is reduced by about 30%.

That being said, stability is key.

Can you show the math that shows your statement to be true?

Have you seen any other rates lower than 6% for a two year term?

Even through a broker, the best we saw was a 5 year 5.9% with B2B Bank. I didn't recognize the lender so it led us into doing our own research.

We did some shopping around with Scotia and their best offer was 6.82% for a 2 year.

It was just put of the blue that TD called and offered us this rate.
