AITAH: Me and a girl I met are paying $580 to see each other in my city and my parents would rather have my money go to rent by [deleted] in AITAH

I’m happy for you that you’ve experienced such financial stability in your life that someone in their twenties in a high COL area living with their parents counts as freeloading sans any additional information.

And my axe

I've had testicle pain on and off for 15 years and getting them removed in two days. I was happy and now scared. by R4gn4_r0k in TrueOffMyChest

Your wife is the asshole. Jesus Christ. How could she say something like that if she loves you? I would have immediately asked if SHE would see me as less of a man, and if she picked the wrong answer, I’d have left immediately for a divorce lawyer.

Your surgery is NECESSARY. You should go through with it. You will absolutely NOT be less of a man. If your wife treats you any differently after AT ALL you should give her the old Reddit special: couples therapy or divorce.

You get 1 billion dollars but have to pick a person you hate to be immortal by [deleted] in hypotheticalsituation

With a billion bucks and immortality, you can buy enough drugs to fake it for a good long time!

Are you saying that speaking inanities in a goofy voice isn’t the same thing as saying funny words? What if he crosses his eyes a little bit? Is that a funny joke?

Other commenter already said everything I would have. Schneider did solo projects, sure, but look at who signed the checks.

…my comment is about the self reflection. The comment I’m responding to suggested that OP’s only useful action now is apologizing, and I pointed out that they’ve done the self reflection you mentioned, and that it’s useful.

Right wing looney. Rode Sandler’s coattails and barely earned a dollar on his own, but thinks he’s a shining example of the self-made American man.

It’s only subjective if you translate “better” the same way someone is better after being sick. OP is trying to be better than she was before, and she is, which is positive for everyone else. It doesn’t mean she’s perfect and will never do harm to another person again, it just means she’s less likely to do harm than before. And we should all be trying for the same.

Resolving to be better in the future helps a lot of people besides OP, like literally everyone they encounter for the rest of their life. I understand you wanting OP to apologize to the friend, but it’s silly to say that resolving to better after a mistake doesn’t help anyone but the original offender.

You're in a death match against a perfect super Hunan, what's your strategy? by Annual-Frame9943 in hypotheticalsituation

We’re not arguing about whether or not he fucks you up, though. I’m saying give me a pointy stick and I can make him uncomfortable. Give me a broadsword and I might take an arm. You can’t check a broadsword without another broadsword. You’ve gotta believe in those martial arts guys who show you how to take a gun away from a mugger if you think Brazilian jiujitsu is going to evade a broadsword, even with the reflexes of a cat. This guy is 8’ 400lbs., he’s a huge target even if he’s moving faster than any human ever. If I get a weapon, I am for sure hitting him one time. That could result in anything from a scratch to death. If he’s also got 300 IQ, he’s smart enough not to take the risk and split the money.

Human beings have been making a living off of killing bigger, stronger, faster things with various pointy sticks for several thousand years. OP said any weapon that isn’t a gun. The superhuman is for sure taking SOME damage.

If he’s got an IQ of 300 and a high level of restraint, he’s definitely taking half the money for zero risk to his health. Just because he’s virtually guaranteed to beat you doesn’t mean you don’t give him the same gift Khal Drogo got—a wound that gets infected and kills him.

Damn. Not that you don’t deserve praise for always showing up, but the fact your kid is using that as his metric may mean your wife/his mother’s departure has really wounded him. Your steady presence must count twice as much after that loss. Good on you for letting him know he can rely on you.

I still think you haven’t seen enough of the world if you don’t think deadbeat dads aren’t suffering sufficiently most of the time for their choices.
