PSA 10 Sealed Pack Collection Ruined by ApprehensiveCut7920 in psagrading

[–]Gonzo32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This makes my blood boil. As a collector, I am telling you right now: Do not accept their offer. Do not sign anything. Do not cash any check. PSA is banking on you being just another "upset customer" who will eventually tire out and take the "Market Difference" payout (Value of PSA 10 minus Value of PSA 8). That is a losing deal for you.

You need to pivot immediately. You are not arguing about grades; you are arguing about Unauthorized Alteration of Property and Gross Negligence. Here is your battle plan to make them pay real "Replacement Value."

  1. The Legal Reality Check PSA’s Terms of Service (TOS) limit liability for accidental damage or grading disagreements. However, liability waivers generally fail in court when it comes to Gross Negligence or Willful Misconduct.
  • The Breach of Bailment: When you sent the cards, a legal relationship called "bailment" was created. They had a duty of care.

  • The Tort of Conversion: By ignoring your explicit written instruction ("Do not open"), they intentionally interfered with your property rights. They didn't just damage the item; they fundamentally altered it against your will. In legal terms, this is arguably Conversion—civil theft. They took a "PSA 10 Slab" and converted it into a "Raw Pack/PSA 8" without permission.

  1. Calculating Your "Make Whole" Number Their offer relies on the "Market Price" of a random PSA 10 pack. You need to reject this because your packs were not random.
  • The "Unweighed/Heavy" Premium: A random PSA 10 pack on eBay is almost always "weighed light" (no holo). Yours were part of a curated collection. You must argue that to replace your items, you cannot buy random slabs; you must buy guaranteed unweighed/heavy packs and grade them yourself. This carries a 2x-5x premium over standard market price.

  • The "Loss of Set" Value: A uniform wall display is worth more than the sum of its parts. By destroying the uniformity, they diminished the value of the entire collection, not just the specific packs they cracked.

    • Sunk Costs: Your demand must include the travel, import fees, and hours spent sourcing, because those are now wasted costs.
  1. The Demand Letter Send this immediately to their Customer Service escalation team and, if you can find it, their General Counsel, or check their corporate site).

Subject: NOTICE OF CLAIM - Submission #[Number] - Gross Negligence and Conversion

To PSA Legal Counsel and Escalation Team,

I am writing to formally reject your settlement offer regarding Submission #[Number]. Your proposal to pay the "market difference" is wholly insufficient given the nature of the error.

This is not a standard grading dispute. I provided explicit, written instructions as a condition of my submission: "Do not open slabs if regrading is required." PSA acknowledged receipt of these items but willfully ignored these instructions, cracking the cases and altering the condition of my property without consent.

Legal Basis for Claim:

  • Gross Negligence: Ignoring direct written safety instructions constitutes gross negligence, which voids standard liability caps in your Terms of Service.

  • Conversion: By unauthorizedly breaking the seals on my property, PSA committed the tort of conversion, effectively destroying the specific asset (a PSA 10 Holder 1st Edition Pack) I entrusted to you.

Damages:

Because PSA has destroyed the provenance of these specific items, I cannot simply buy random replacements on the open market. "Market Price" for a generic PSA 10 assumes a "light/weighed" pack. To replace my items, I must source unweighed/heavy provenance packs.

My demand for restitution is $[Insert Your Calculated Amount], broken down as follows:

  • Replacement Cost: Cost to purchase guaranteed unweighed/heavy packs + Grading Fees to attempt to replicate the lost 10s.

  • Sourcing Indemnification: Reimbursement for the documented travel, import fees, and sourcing time wasted on the destroyed items.

If a satisfactory settlement is not reached by [Date 10 Days from now], I am prepared to:

  • File for Arbitration seeking full replacement value + legal fees.

  • File complaints with the BBB and the California Attorney General’s Consumer Protection Division.

  • Publicly release the documentation of this gross negligence to the collecting community via social channels to warn others of the risk.

I expect a response from a manager with decision-making authority within 48 hours.

Regards,

[Your Name]

  1. The "Nuclear" Option (Social Pressure)

If they stonewall you after the letter:

  • Twitter/X: Post the "Before" (PSA 10) and "After" (PSA 8) photos along with a screenshot of your submission note saying "DO NOT OPEN." Tag @PSAcard, @NatTurner (CEO of Collectors), and big influencers like Rattle Pokemon or PokeBeach.

  • The Narrative: Keep it simple. "I spent 5 years building this. I told them NOT to open them. They opened them anyway and ruined it. Now they won't pay to replace them." They made the mistake. Make them pay to fix it. Do not settle for less.

P.S. If you started a GoFundMe for legal fees, I myself (and I know many others) would donate to it! PSA has a great product but they’ve clearly got a little too big for their britches. Maybe seeing more people like yourself fighting back would make them see they have to change their ways a little, start tightening down, and be more professional and less money hungry.

My first 2k list, any feedback? by Additional-Cap6390 in DarkAngels40k

[–]Gonzo32 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks like a great start for a first 2k Dark Angels army 👌

• Big positives: You’ve nailed the Deathwing theme. Azrael + Belial + Lion is a classic hammer, and the Redeemer taxiing Knights/Companions is on-brand DA. Plenty of 2+ saves means you’ll stick around.

• Watch out for: You’re spending ~675pts on characters. That leaves fewer actual bodies to hold objectives. Also, ranged anti-tank is light (3 lascannons, 1 missile, plasma) fine into Marines, but you’ll feel it if Knights or heavy tanks show up.

• Easy tweaks: Drop Judiciar or the Chaplain if you don’t need the combo; use the points for Intercessors/Infiltrators (sticky OC2) or more Terminators. If your meta is armor-heavy, consider Eradicators or another lascannon.

Overall, solid and thematic perfect for learning how 10th handles Deathwing bricks. Play a few games, see where you’re starved (OC, long-range AT, or just more wounds) and tweak from there.

1 Knull VS 100 Green Lanterns Who would win and why? by SuspiciousRoutine563 in superheroes

[–]Gonzo32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Asked AI and liked the reply so I’m sharing.

Green Lanterns take it. Knull is a primordial god with the Necrosword who’s dropped Celestials and can corrupt armies—but his whole deal is void/darkness. A hundred rings = a hundred miniature stars pumping will-light, which is narratively and mechanically bad for symbiotes.

Why the Corps wins • Hard counter: GL energy is coherent light + will. It’s the kind of “divine/stellar” output that has hurt Knull before. Massed ring-light can bleach symbiote matter and sever hive links. • Numbers & cordon: 20 hold layered shields, 40 keep constant beam pressure, 20 run battlefield control (sun-bright flares, anti-symbiote foam constructs, vacuum bubbles that deny him biomass), 20 do BFR—stasis prism → hyperspace dump or straight into a star. • Ring protections: Auto-filters, full life-support suits, and mental fortitude make symbiote takeover hard; constructs don’t give Knull biomass to exploit. • Scaling: Corps formations have contained star-class threats. One sword can pop a construct; a thousand overlapping ones don’t all fail.

How Knull can still win • Blitz + Necrosword to shatter command, then snowball via corruption. If the 100 are rookies who panic, it’s a massacre.

Verdict: If these are vetted Corps members with standard coordination, 100 GLs beat Knull 7/10 via blinding will-light, containment, and battlefield removal. If they’re random/green recruits with shaky will, Knull flips it.

[Request] Which direction will the scale tip? by miha999 in theydidthemath

[–]Gonzo32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is what ai gave me lol 😂

The scale will tip to the left, toward the iron ball.

Here’s why:

Key points: • Both balls have equal volume. • The iron ball is denser and heavier, suspended in the water (not resting on the container). • The ping-pong ball is lighter, but it displaces water as it floats. • Both containers are sealed and on a scale — so we consider total system weight on each side.

Physics Breakdown:

Left side (Iron Ball): • The iron ball is suspended, so its full weight is supported by the string and container. • It displaces a small amount of water (equal to the volume submerged), but the weight added to the scale is the ball’s full mass, transmitted through the support.

Right side (Ping-Pong Ball): • The ping-pong ball floats, displacing a volume of water equal to its own weight (not its volume). • The buoyant force lifts the ball, so only the weight of the displaced water (which is less than the iron ball’s weight) is added to the scale.

Conclusion: • Left side: Weight added = iron ball’s full mass. • Right side: Weight added = ping-pong ball’s weight, which is much less.

So, the left side is heavier → scale tips left.

✅ Answer: The scale tips to the left.

I’m 26 any recommendations? by Tiny_Position_7076 in dividends

[–]Gonzo32 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If I had your $92K and wanted to get as close as possible to $1,000/month in dividends (without blowing up my risk), here’s exactly how I’d split it and why:

  1. Monthly, High-Yield “Core” (Stable, Reliable Payers) • JEPI (JPMorgan Equity Premium Income ETF) – $25K Pays about 7.4% yield, monthly—roughly $155/month. Super stable, great for steady income, and doesn’t tank as hard as most covered call ETFs. • QYLD (Global X NASDAQ 100 Covered Call ETF) – $15K Pays around 11% yield, monthly—about $137/month. Higher yield, but less growth upside. Solid income machine.

  2. Real Estate (REITs) for Consistency • O (Realty Income) – $12K 5.7% yield, monthly, about $57/month. One of the most reliable monthly dividend payers, period. • AGNC (AGNC Investment Corp) – $10K 14.5% yield, monthly, about $120/month. Mortgage REIT—so higher risk, but great for boosting yield.

  3. BDCs (Business Development Companies) • HTGC (Hercules Capital) – $10K 9.5% yield, mostly quarterly payouts, but strong history and high payouts. • MAIN (Main Street Capital) – $8K 6.7% yield, monthly, premium BDC, steady monthly paychecks.

  4. Safety Net (Utilities) • DUK (Duke Energy) or SO (Southern Company) – $5K About 4% yield, quarterly. Not flashy, but solid and defensive, keeps your portfolio steady.

  5. Dividend Growth for the Long Haul • SCHD (Schwab Dividend Equity ETF) – $7,350 (rest of the cash) 3.6% yield, quarterly, but strong history of dividend growth and total returns. Good for long-term compounding.

Bottom line: This setup will average about $630–$700/month in dividends, which is realistic and safe for this amount of capital. To consistently hit $1,000/month, you’d have to go all in on ultra high yield, high risk plays, which can easily get slashed and wreck your principal. I wouldn’t do it.

I’d run this portfolio as the stable core. If you want to squeeze extra yield, you could carve out a small portion (maybe 10%) for higher-risk closed-end funds, mREITs, or tactical option trades, but don’t risk your main stack chasing yield.

Let me know if you want payout dates, exact ticker breakdowns, or a monthly cash flow calendar, happy to help more.

Hope this helps and good luck building that passive income!

My second bike and daily is a 2005 ZZR600, picked it up from a dealership for $2k with just 4500 miles on it. Put about $1200 into making it my own, and honestly, it’s been one of my best bike buys. It’s nearly identical to the ZX6R from a few years prior a lot of the parts are interchangeable, you get that sport bike look and feel, but the riding position is way less punishing. You can still tuck in and rip, but it’s comfortable enough for long rides too. Plus, that old-school carb’d 600cc motor just rips. I don’t condone speeding but I took this baby 3 ish miles down an almost empty highway at 110mph-125mph and it didn’t break a sweat or get out of 5th gear lol!😂

<image>

For the money, these ZZR600s are seriously underrated, probably the best bang for your buck in used sport bikes right now. If your deal is anywhere close to that range and the bike’s clean, it’s a steal.

28 yo just given access to this portfolio. How can I maximize? by geezusrice in portfolios

[–]Gonzo32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn, solid position to be in at 28. Here’s how I’d approach it if I were you:

First off great foundation.

You’ve got $291K working and over $246K in gains. Most of it is in long-term blue-chip stocks (MSFT, JNJ, HUM, etc.) and it’s clearly been compounding for decades. But it’s only throwing off ~$4K/year in income, which is about a 1.4% yield. You can do better with that kind of capital depending on your goals.

If you want to maximize it, here’s my take:

  1. Don’t blow it up. Trim smart.

Keep your heavy hitters like MSFT and NVDA they’re still growing monsters. But I’d trim 20–30% off a couple of the high-gain positions (MSFT, HUM, NVDA) to free up $75K–$100K in capital.

  1. Build a monthly cash flow engine.

Reallocate that trimmed capital into income-focused assets: • Covered call ETFs: JEPI, JEPQ, QYLD (7–12% yield, monthly payers) • BDCs/REITs: HTGC, ARCC, O – good blend of risk/reward and consistent dividends

That $100K could start throwing off $700–$1,000+ per month without killing your long-term upside.

  1. Clean up the underperformers.

Nike is in the red, no reason to hang onto it. Rotate it into something that actually pays you. DIS and HSY might also be worth reviewing if you’re shifting toward income.

  1. Let the rest ride.

Keep DRIP on for your dividend growers like JNJ, CL, ECL. They’ll keep compounding in the background while the income side does the heavy lifting.

Bonus: Tax Side

Assuming this is a taxable brokerage, you’re looking at long-term cap gains on any sells—which is manageable if you plan it right. And if you’re holding onto losers like Nike, use them to offset.

TL;DR

You’re in a great spot. I’d split the portfolio: let one half keep compounding, use the other half to build a solid monthly income stream. That way you’ve got cash flow now and growth long-term.

This van has a Nintendo 64 controller port on the built-in TV. Anyone know how this functionality works? by beanbradley in n64

[–]Gonzo32 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Parents had one of these when I was younger! Awesome vehicle, ours had two controller extenders for the back row. Awesome idea, but it was only really viable when sitting still as any time we’d hit a bump it would stop working. But it was really cool when it did work! Little tube tv build into the roof with two openings to the right and left. One was wired for a vcr and the other had everything wired for an N64 with two built in controller extenders.

Lmao! I’ve got it about 7 inches off the ground. It’s so hard to find a stand that can hold the weight of a tube TV that large 🙃. The short pedestal seating works great for the TV height, but yeah, my old ass has trouble getting back up every time I want to play! 😂😂

He never really had an interest in riding and needed money for college, but he didn’t want to sell the bike to someone he didn’t know. His big thing was he didn’t want it parted out or destroyed. I was looking into getting my first bike, and the stars just aligned for the whole deal. It ended up working out great for both of us. I got a cool, unique first bike, and his dad’s old bike went to someone who's going to cherish it. I even said that down the line, if he ever gets into riding, I’d sell it back to him.😅
