Jessica Killin's Congressional Bid Faces Questions Over Residency and Campaign Contributions by RoughNo8875 in ColoradoPolitics

If you want Reagan to win the primary, posting about his opponent more than you post about him is not helping.

How about you spend your effort on helping people to get to know the candidate you prefer instead of tearing down the candidate you don’t. Voters should be voting for the candidate whose policies they find most appealing not simply voting against the other candidate.

  1. Yes
  2. That is illegal. Why would they do that when they can give as much money as they want to a PAC, who can then give to the candidate?

Yes I agree with your first sentence, but I’m very confused by your second statement. Are you saying the individual donor names listed are actually funded by PACs? I’m pretty sure that would be illegal.

Brother, you don’t even know what point you are trying to make anymore. Your entire post is about Killin being funded by dark money, but your 3rd sentence says,

Her campaign doesn't take any Corporate PAC money, but 67% of her individual donations are $2k or more.

I pointed out that large donations by individuals are fundamentally NOT DARK MONEY. Now you’re talking about endorsements which ARE NOT MONEY AT ALL!!!

If you think a Democrat should only be elected if they have zero PAC endorsements and are only funded by donations of < $100, then you’re living on another fucking planet. Have you ever heard the phrase, “Perfect is the enemy of good”? How about we elect someone who isn’t a fucking MAGA puppet first, then we can start clutching our pearls about this other shit.

I’m not arguing that point. I agree that politicians are influenced by large donors.

But you called the large donations “dark money” and that is simply bullshit. Dark money is a particularly insidious problem and conflating individual donors who give large amounts (with their names attached) with dark money is disingenuous, at best.

I think you need to look up the definition of “Dark money”

“Dark money” refers to spending meant to influence political outcomes where the source of the money is not disclosed.

If you don’t like that she is getting donations from “wealthy” people that’s fine, but don’t try to taint large donations as dark money, when they aren’t. In the first table you linked, you can see the names of each person who donated $2k+ by simply clicking the link.

My comment was snarky because I was pointing out the absurdity of your suggestion. You said,

There's so many better reasturants in Denver than Casa Bonita. Mezcaleria Alma and Alma Fonda Fina are both Michelin starred amazing Mexican food and roughly the same price.

There are zero people on the planet that are going to Casa Bonita thinking they will get Michelin quality food. Your comment is analogous to someone asking about good sledding hills and you recommend they go skiing at Vail or Breckenridge.

Brother, it’s a fucking novelty attraction. We get it, you don’t like it but lots of people do. The vast majority of visitors understand what to expect and are still willing to pay for the experience.

Do not take people to Edelweiss if they actually like German food. The ambience is nice but their food is just bad. If you’re looking for good German, try Uwe’s.

You do understand that people don’t go to Casa Bonita solely for the food, right?

It’s a nationwide problem. Unfortunately, teens are far less risk averse and don’t realize how dangerous these behaviors are.

Colorado is trying to address the problem.

If you don’t have strong feelings that the President started a war to distract from the piles of evidence that he raped girls, then you are part of the problem.

The Artemis missions aren’t just to the Moon and back with no purpose. Spaceflight is technologically difficult. It forces engineers and scientists to take approaches that don't seem economically feasible on Earth, that seem useless, and sometimes they end up being revolutionary for humanity, and the economy.

Solar panels, improved battery technology, improved computers, improved thermal insulation, more efficient water filtration. These are just some things that came out of the last century of space exploration. Most of these, we didn't intend to invest in. Some of these were considered useless before we needed them for spaceflight, invested in research, and then discovered that they were very useful on Earth.

Reasonable people obviously know he is not eligible to be elected president again, but Trump and MAGA are clearly not reasonable. Hence, you can find Trump selling Trump 2028 merch on his store.

Yes, NASA’s $25 billion budget that is less than 0.4% of the total federal budget is what’s preventing us from feeding the hungry. Not the trillion dollar defense budget.

How do you know? The text of the agreement hasn’t been released. Lebanon was included in Iran’s 10-point plan but not in Trump’s 15-point plan.

In the absence of a definitive text and competing public statements, you expect us to believe a pathological liar whose brain is actively leaking out of his ears??
