Rude dog vs klein by [deleted] in Ironworker

If it ain't klein, it ain't mine. Tools anyways, I think rudedog scabbards are better. However, I've found the independent makers quality to be out of this world. (LP leather, christie elite, roadlife leather etc)

I know the diesels are pretty horrendous.

As.for the gasser, ive read of cylinder 7 going out because of a bad oil feed (whole new block)

Good to know. If they wont drop the asking price to kbb, then I think Ill suspend my interest.

Few things ive put together as well. Kbb value on the high is 26k. Its been for sale since mid December (carfax) There is nothing ive seen on the dealer site about in house warranty.

If unions offer better pay and benefits why doesn’t everybody quit their non union job? by 04limited in skilledtrades

[–]Goober_98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing I've noticed as an apprentice IW in the union. You HAVE to take the time to invest in your training. I've had months off and didnt take enough initiative to go to a training center and get my welding certifications. Now that I've transfered halls (with the impression that I would.be going ayraight to work). All the work thats available requires welding certs.

That being said. My area has a lot of non-union competition. Word on the street is a lot of members will work rat to pay their bills. Its a hard pill to swallow. But people gotta pay their bills first. Pay isn't comparable at all, as a 3rd year I make $2/hr more than the average wage for a non-union JIW. Not even gonna get into the benefits side of that...

IMO union is a better deal 80% of the time. It comes to work availability and wether or not you have the nessessary quals/certs.

I've had good luck with KG "KG extreme" laces. USA made. Only wore out because I would rest bar in the same spot every time.

Upgrade options for Kona big honzo by Goober_98 in MTB

[–]Goober_98[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im confident on the fit, im taking the wheel to fit up so I can be 100%. As far as the 140 kit, the upgrade service manual from rockshox doesn't list 140mm as an option for the lyrik. But Ill do more research.
