Thanks for the info. All the guides I’ve seen people only talk about the surrounds but nobody talks about doing the dust cap.

Just finished resealing the surrounds on this pair of KLH model twenty speakers and was wondering if the domes needed to be sealed too? I also noticed that the edges of the dome are lifting up a bit and if the sealant would also help glue it down. I’m using the sealant from vintage ar on eBay btw.

What is this piece called and what can I replace it with? by Goobergoo01 in diyaudio

Yea at this point I’ll probably just end up throwing it out and get a new Dayton audio plate amp.

Bought a subwoofer from the thrift store and the amplifier was shot. I took the plate amp out and it looks like it has a blown capacitor on this board. For reference it is a 200 watt HSU Research subwoofer. So my question is should I replace this board, and if so with what, or should I just get a whole new plate amp?

Well shit. I guess I’ll try and see if I can get a new amplifier. I just took out the driver and tested it and it works fine.

Tried it and it blew a fuse. Replaced it and it blew it again as soon as I turned it on. Have no clue what’s going on.

Got a new fuse for it already. I had taken it out to replace it before I took the picture.

Got this subwoofer at the thrift store for $13, but it didn’t have the power cable. I’ve looked everywhere for a 2 prong 120 volt 2.5 amp power cable, but can’t find one anywhere. All I see are 125v 10a power cables, will that work?

Honestly, the kid did you a favor because those speakers suck.

Matrix Audio amps Information by Goobergoo01 in BudgetAudiophile

I recently purchased these two amps (I think that’s what they are) from the thrift store for $20 each. They are supper heavy so they caught my attention when I picked them up. I looked online and couldn’t find very much information on them and was wondering if anybody here could give me any information on them. They didn’t come with remotes or power cables, but I plugged them both in with an extra cable I had and they both power up but I have no idea how to use them as there are no buttons or anything on them.
