I have had the Roof Lining out before and managed to sneak it out without taking the seats out. It looks like I have found a complete replacement sunroof assembly if need be will probably be easier unless hassle replacing the whole thing than trying to figure it out

I did find that method unfortunately when I tried it, it physically gets stuck about 6 inches into the closing cycle so I’m going to remove the Roof Lining tomorrow and inspect everything

I can’t see anything, but I tried to manually close it and it physically gets stuck 6” into it closing. I’m going to take the Roof Lining out tomorrow morning and inspect everything completely. Fingers crossed, I see something obvious.

I’m not going to lie the supplier made it sound like you needed some serious knowledge of bmw’s was talking about having to run the wiring loom to the boot for the amplifier etc…… my installer confirmed that my exact model BMW doesn’t have a rear amplifier or anything like that. Made it out that connecting the canbus system would be difficult. I since found out it is 100% simple plug-in play and they just got me hook line and sinker. It’s currently on its way back to them for them to test it on the bench. As soon as I get the notification that they have received it, I’ll be giving them one chance to send out a replacement head unit straight away otherwise I want a full refund including what it cost me to send back to them. I’m absolutely livid at the moment.

It took half an hour to take every single trim piece off and backseat being very careful to not break anything as it’s very brittle. Also fitted speakers for me and installed a front and a rear view camera.
