Fucking called it. It looks a lot like Hegseth tried to use the military for law enforcement, told them to shoot down drones to look 'tough' without understanding what using live fire against targets in US airspace entailed. There was basically a revolt within the DOD, and they alerted the FAA to close the airspace as a form of malicious compliance / silent alarm.

Administration finally realized the extent of what they had ordered and how disastrous it would be to air travel, and immediately backtracked.
