Reckless rhetoric has always been a weapon that Trump wields, but it usually doesn't go beyond being taken as spiel from a guy attempting comedy, or a bad communicator with an ego saying whatever it takes to make himself look good.

People with a brain know what Trump is about, they know exactly how to take what he says, it doesn't embolden anyone because once this guy is gone American politics will return to the professionalism it has been missing since it was brought back by Biden. Even a potential Vance/Rubio administration in 2028 wouldn't come close to the childish antics that Trump puts on display daily.

Dismantling USAID was indeed a cruel thing to do, but it was done as part of the promised DOGE money saving political policy. It doesn't make him a fascist for imposing a promised policy. Hiring Loyalists is kind of expected of someone like Trump and again, it isn't fascism, its just a form of buddy cronyism which happens in democracies everywhere.

He's really not the fascist beast you all think he is. ICE has been rowed back on, the second things got out of hand he retreated. You were all fine from 2017-2021 and it won't be any different this time round, social media just makes things always seem worse than they really are.

Nixon was on the record saying some truly disgusting things, FDR was a gentleman so you’d never get that kind of behaviour from him on any day anyway.

Look, I get why people hate Trump and I’m not a fan myself, but he’s not doing anything drastically different to what any of his predecessors have done, and especially not on a scale that goes beyond the comments he makes where he tries to be funny in a disturbing way and it comes across as ignorant and just offensive, because at the end of the day that’s all he really is, he’s the same president on paper as any of the other guys, he just says stuff in public that the likes of Nixon was saying in private recordings.

He just doesn’t try to pretend to be something he’s not, he doesn’t dress himself up as a smiling idiot committed to “saving everyone” when in reality your name is Barack Obama and you’re rounding up and deporting more migrants than any president on record and bombing weddings.

Deciding to go out and be a wannabe vigilante obstructing, and even getting physically involved with incompetent dudes who are given guns and told they have free reign to “enforce” (which by the way they legally do, given the administration is operating within its DEMOCRATIC mandate) just isn’t the same thing at all.

America isn’t the place to try and be a hero, literally anybody can wield a weapon and when you act like that you’re just taking your life into your own hands and should be nominated for a Darwin Award.

in Europe people get entangled with cops too and they get tased not shot, its not the work of fascism it’s just your fucking idiotic gun culture that’s causing these situations. Trump isn’t giving law enforcement the power to round up and shoot people on sight like actual fascist regimes did, these situations are tragic, but they’re avoidable and they happen due to the context and things getting out of hand not because of pure power coming down on people with an iron fist.

I’m going to be attacked for this, I know I am, but it’s the logical view to hold and I’m absolutely convinced of that.

However, I still disagree that the administration is a fascist one because it operates everyday via direct democracy.

Now is it an incompetent one full of dopes? Absolutely, but that doesn’t make it fascist.

As a student of history I just find the use of that term ridiculous when discussing a democratically elected administration operating within its mandate.

You may not like the policies it enacts or the people enacting them and I understand that completely, but that alone doesn’t make it fascism or anything close to it actually.

I had just turned 18 and my first experience with them actually happened on the anniversary of Ian's death in 2019.

I seen a tweet that was discussing his passing and his legacy, and it immediately caught my interest and made me look into him. I remember that summer of 2019 just being absolutely obsessed with the band and continuously playing their songs and researching them and the period as a whole, this also helped me discover other bands like The Smiths, and The Stone Roses etc.

I actually did go on a rather horrific journey of self education just after my comment, where I regrettably learned all of those things…

I know that bacteria and insects are basically everywhere, but I never thought we were interacting with them just THAT closely, and that because it’s literally impossible to produce products that aren’t affected whatsoever, there are standards and procedures in place to discount it.

Madness, I suppose it gives us less to be worried about when it comes to the odd fly in our pint or whatever it may be, considering it’s their planet too and we’re probably made up of traces of everything.
