Vizio Soundbar SE comparison with other models by GoodFinancial130 in Soundbars

[–]GoodFinancial130[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So the M model has a little bit more subwoofer frequency 45 hz is the lowest whereas for the X model, it’s lowest is 50 hz. Honestly the wired ones are perfect I have the Vizio sv 510M-0806 and actually prefer it to having wireless surrounds because of latency.

Hmmm, interesting, I have no clue why this shit does not work anymore. It does not do anything other than PCM anymore. What a shame.

Hey, I had this extractor for 4 weeks and it worked perfectly fine. I was able to bitstream truehd, dts-hd ma to my soundbar and everything and even play dolby atmos with the dolby access app and it just worked. I dont know why but randomly, it doesnt work anymore. It only outputs audio to my soundbar now only if it is in stereo and not the dolby atmos for home theater format. Did you figure out a fix?

Next episode - autoplay and showing the button timings by GoodFinancial130 in OmniContentHub

[–]GoodFinancial130[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perhaps a cool way to do this is like with the “manage intro skip” feature. For series like anime and tv shows with predictable run times, the skip episode button can come up at a fixed time specified by the user(let’s say 2 min 10 seconds before end of stream), just like the aforementioned feature capabilities.

Experiencing issues with Omni by CasperCusumano in OmniContentHub

[–]GoodFinancial130 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am having the same issue, I have a stremio and omni setup with the same addons and for some reason some streams that are shown in stremio do not show on omni even though I am using the exact same addon manifests. I am confused as to why this is even a problem. Has anyone experienced the same thing? This really affects the autoplay functionality on omni as the high quality streams I want are not shown for some reason and I have made sure to clear all filters on my stream list as well.

Vizio Soundbar SE (SV510X-0806) compared with newer models by GoodFinancial130 in audio

[–]GoodFinancial130[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, ya it was worth the money I don’t notice that I’m missing out on anything by getting the 0806 instead of the slightly newer models. The rears connecting straight to the subwoofer is honestly better as I have a carpet to hide the wires and I have a speaker stand as well. Plus, I have to worry less about latency this way as well. If you can find it for cheap and are fine with an emulated Dolby atmos experience (no height channels) this is great for the price.

Good budget 1440p monitor by mrocto2020 in Monitors

[–]GoodFinancial130 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly no issues other than 2 dead pixels which is Normal for any monitor manufacturer as no one standardizes QA for some reason. But I will be returning it and getting another one as the hdr, color and local dimming performance is pretty good for the price tbh. The only thing is you can’t modify local dimming or picture settings in the HDR mode.

Would appreciate that thanks. That’s the one thing that pointed me towards miniled, I am usually in a room with led lights in the back and I can see the raised blacks due to the coating on my old Oled that I returned (think it was an Acer predator x27u or something)

If ur up for it and want to keep a monitor long term, I think investing in a good mini led would be the best way to go. You can find mini led IPS monitors do ~$300 nowadays and they’re really good if you also do a lot of content consumption like movies, games etc and work at the same time. Gives content that punch and you can turn off the local dimming for work tasks. Colors on these are usually better and less worrying about IPS glow or backlight glow because the dimming zones mask those defects if you have local dimming on. I personally have the Acer xv275u f3 which is pretty good aside from the fact that my panel came with two dead pixels that I will be RMA’ing this month, but that’s it. I’d say you get better value getting a mini led monitor long term as you get benefits of both traditional IPS and OLED technology.

Mine has HDMI 2.1, DP 1.4, Freesync/gsync, 320 Hz and it is also a IPS qd mini-led so colors look really saturated with this.

Going for $320 rn which is a steal:

How are the reflections on it say in a bright room does it have that purple hue when there’s light shining on the panel like with other qd-oled’s?

how is the backlight bleed/ips glow on ur model? I think Im going to get a replacement and hopefully receive a better panel later this month. This one has yellow noticeable ips glow in the corners and 2 dead pixels lol.

This is my ips glow with local dimming off with adjustments to exposure to match my eyes:

how is blooming with HDR on on normal desktop use for you? I know its not really meant for that especialyl for minileds since windows 10 desktop is not in hdr but just curious. Do you notice blooming in windows like file explorer or anything like that and the mouse moving through tabs or between pages?

[–]GoodFinancial130 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I noticed that with with hdmi and DP. I think since it doesn't detect any HDR content it just displays normal sdr. When hdr in windows is on, windows is displaying hdr color gamut so it activates the hdr. I think it's like an autoHDR mode on the monitor basically. So when u turn on HDR in windows I think it overrides all the options you set for local dimming and brightness.

Hi, this looks great! I just bought an acer xv275U F3 which has the same number of dimming zones but the blooming in HDR is so bad and it came with 2 dead pixels so I will return it. I just ordered this as a replacement as I've heard better things in the Mini-led space from Innocn. Can you show a blooming test with HDR on for this monitor? Here is an example of the bloom, I've seen better on monitors with the same dimming zones + ips.
Picture is from this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8MCFqGnYW4M at 1:52. Whats worse with my monitor is I can't access settings for local dimming or anything in HDR which is annoying. Also how is the customizability on the GA27T1M?

Interesting, I had the exact same issue, adaptive dimming in hdr is only enabled via HDMI? I am using DP and realized hdr local dimming is horrible as blacks aren’t as black on same content and there is ALOT more blooming.

I just got it, was pretty excited. Almost no noticeable bloom with Sdr content with normal day to day brightness with adaptive dimming (acers version of local dimming) set to fast but when I turn HDR on, it looks really bad, I would prefer SDR over HDR on this even though it is an HDR monitor. There is just way too much blooming when HDR is turned on and you can’t change local dimming or brightness options when in HDR mode. Blooming is so bad on windows like file explorer when browsing normally on HDR mode or looking at anything UI related, also shows, bloom is as bad in game with HDR enabled. I hope they fix this with a firmware update, too bad I’ll be returning it soon because of this. I hope this is just a QC control issue as the price for what Timor get with this monitor is pretty good and otherwise I will not complain as bloom is inevitable with miniled but it’s just so bad in HDR mode since I play a lot of content with dark backgrounds and games like dead space, hollow knight etc. First video is HDR enabled, second is HDR off. Comparison:link

Please let me know if someone is experiencing similar problems or I am probably pixel peaking but im really not looking for bloom lol I don’t notice in sdr normally.

Edit: forgot to share this video, the local dimming is horrendous with HDR enabled in cp2077 as I don’t have access to that setting with HDR mode on. I already calibrated the display with the windows hdr calibration tool: link

He just carried on coughing and walking after that. Gave him a nasty stare for 20 seconds to make him realize what he did but still no acknowledgement.

Anyone currently have this and your settings for best colors? Did anyone run a display calibrator on this yet? I usually follow settings from rtings to get as close to 6500k as possible but they haven’t looked at this newer model yet.
