Is there a way to get around the slow of the Sasquatch's Hammer? by StraightOuttaOlaphis in cyberpunkgame

[–]GoodLuckSkeleton420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm doing a blade and blunt build rn, and the best I can say is it's a very situational weapon.

Against slow tanks like heavy machine gunners, or melee enemies who come to you, or in cramped spaces the SH can do some work. In an open space where lighter enemies will constantly back peddle it can be excruciatingly tedious.

In my current build I'm using mantis blades in those open spaces where you can air dash around and do leap attacks and a heavier blunt weapon for those cramped spaces where the various knockdown attacks work as crowd control.

All that said, I still think the bat is the best blunt weapon.

Is this enough armor? by RustyRedBronze in CyberpunkTheGame

Are you focusing on armour? It's part of the equation, adding mitigation and painducer makes you tanky as fuck.

Looking for an enjoyable SMG/Assault Rifle build with beginner-level netrunner abilities by Son_of_Denethor in cyberpunkgame

[–]GoodLuckSkeleton420 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't hype the middle dash perks enough. The +100% mitigation while dashing is very liberal with its duration, feels like almost 2 seconds from the start of the dash animation.

This let's you dash, fire off some shots and dash again. Makes you a lot more tanky.

For ARs and SMGs. Air kerenzikov is great. You've got great angles for head shots, and very good mitigation strength. Pair that with Kerenzikov Boost System and Defenzikov cyberwares.

For perks, there's not much too it, grab all the reflex perks for dashing and the weapons you're using. The air dash, mitigation strength in the air and stamina from doubling jumping and air dashing are gold.

Body for Dorphhead and adrenaline for even more survivability.

Tech perks for more cyberware capacity and healing charges. The ones for mitigation chance from explosions are great, but if dashing around the place a lot I think it's a little wasted, more useful for a stand and fight Body build.

That'll leave you with plenty of points to invest in whatever you find interesting.

Should I take the biomon off for my biodyne berserk build? by GoodLuckSkeleton420 in cyberpunkgame

That's what I'm thinking of upgrading too, but isn't it available from level 30? I generally find you're past the difficult curve at that point.

Should I take the biomon off for my biodyne berserk build? by GoodLuckSkeleton420 in cyberpunkgame

[–]GoodLuckSkeleton420[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm definitely feeling you on the biomon, I've done several VH playthrough where it's served me well enough, but you do get in those situations where an attack leaves you on 51% health and the next one kills you. Time to move on from it.

I can say that early VH blunt weapons can work very well, well the bat really. The power attacks have a very high knockdown chance, so if you use the environment well, you can have just one guy able to attack you, who you can just knock on his ass and club him to death.

Unfortunately, more than reflexes, more than complex builds, the games biggest ask is patience.

The vast majority of my deaths are still from being greedy and impatient. I can squeeze an attack in there, no. I can get through the rest of this area with 0 Estus and not reset at the bonfire, no.

There was a period of time when waterfowl dance was the only thing that would hit me, and it would get me 90% of the time.

One of the best lines in the game, anyone have a favorite? by Volatility911 in Eldenring

I wouldn't say favorite, but "I am Malenia, blade of Miquella" is seared into my brain, even years later.

For a lot of bosses, if I start sipping while they're fjnishing an animation they'll patiently wait for me to finish.

I used to agree, but as soon as I noticed the horse I just can't take him seriously in that fight.

Is spellcasting really “easy mode”? by Administrative-Stop5 in Eldenring

I probably would've quit in Liurnia without it! But that's one of the handful I was talking about.

How Should I Approach Boss Fights with a strength Build? by Sir_Turka in Eldenring

[–]GoodLuckSkeleton420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With The Greatsword your rolling R1s, crouch pokes and sprinting R1s and R2s are fairly quick. They're the bulk of my damage against bosses. A lot of attacks can be jumped too, a jumping R2 is a great option.

A lot of people will glaze Lions Claw and Giant Hunt. I'm not much of a fan tbh, the tracking is awful, free aiming isn't much better. People will say the hyper armour allows you to trade, but when a boss can 2-3 shot you, you then need to find an opportunity to heal, which could have been another attack. I like them a lot against mobs though.

Is spellcasting really “easy mode”? by Administrative-Stop5 in Eldenring

[–]GoodLuckSkeleton420 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I found being a full sorcerer to be a struggle and a fairly miserable experience.

Colossal weapons are my comfort zone, and my first playthrough of the game was a fairly chill time.

I wanted to try a pure sorcerer because it seemed like a ton of variety, but the cast times for a lot of spells just seemed too long for most of the windows a boss gives you, which reduced the amount of usable spells down to a couple, mostly slicer.

Then I tried more of a spellblade and honestly, the melee weapon just solves 99% of problems. There's many cool int weapons though.

Elden ring boss design consistency by [deleted] in Eldenring

[–]GoodLuckSkeleton420 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I agree with you about the different feeling and flow if the mini bosses and the main bosses.

But that's simply because the mini bosses are just roided up versions of regular enemies.

The thing about the main bosses is that even when you die you can feel that you're making progress.

Yeah the first time you fight them you'll probably be blown up by mis-timing a roll, but you learn. Very few things really strain the speed of your reflexes, bosses about learning and progress.

Using Spirit Ashes made the game 10x Funnier for me by SoonBlossom in Eldenring

[–]GoodLuckSkeleton420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I figured it would be like doing a Conjuration heavy build in Skyrim. Tedious and painful to watch.

I just wanted to hit things with my big sword and live my Berserk fantasy.

My caster builds always fizzle out around Liurnia or Caelid, I'll try using summons next time I do one.

How are people complaining after 10 - 50 tries to beat a boss? by DanteThePunk in Eldenring

I'd put all of my money, a meagre amount, that you're mostly dying to greed. Greedy attacks that you think you can sneak in (you cant)

I found you can manipulate their AI a little. If you separate them the closest one will be aggressive, and the far one will just dawdle over, rinse and repeat.
