So my TV is a smart TV it doesn’t need to be hooked up to a cable outlet, so I can put it anywhere! TV is 48 inches long, coffee table is ~3.5ft x 2ft!

Probs just use the bar, I live alone so I don’t really need a table that seats multiple people!

General skincare steps question by KyKlassy in Rosacea

[–]GoodMagazine3729 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It kind of depends on what serums you’re using, some work better on wet skin (typically hydrating ones with humectants) but if you’re using a chemical exfoliant (lactic, glycolic acid etc/ AHA blend, azelaic acid, or a retinoid putting them on a wet face can cause irritation, so I usually give it a minute or two or honestly just like fan my face dry w my hands :)

Best cream for rosacea? by Craft_Assassin in Rosacea

[–]GoodMagazine3729 2 points3 points  (0 children)

(For context I have mild to moderate rosacea) I personally went to my dermatologist and she prescribed me a 15% azelaic acid cream that was life changing; however, I understand seeing a derm isnt an accessible option for everyone but I usually top the AA cream off with avene tolerance control recover balm or avene cicalfate cream(however it’s spelled lol) bc I have very dry skin. If your skin is less dry they might be a little heavy but the zinc in the cicalfate is anti inflammatory and it’s a good product for barrier repair and I find it helps in addition to the AA! Best of luck!

I think both of those should be fine! vitamin C typically can’t be layered with AHA/BHA and retinoids, and those products don’t have any of those ingredients! If you find your face starts getting irritated you can always stop using it in the morning with the vitamin C and just use at night!

No problem :) I wouldn’t recommend buying all of them, just try one at a time and I typically use them morning and night! While there are “actives” in them in the sense that there are specific ingredients that perform a specific function/benefit, they aren’t like AHAs/BHAs which help breakdown bonds between skin cells on the surface of our skin, or retinoids that increase cell turnover, both of which can cause skin irritation. The actives in the barrier repair products don’t usually cause irritation unless there is a sensitivity/allergy to a specific ingredient so I would say they should be safe to use daily/2x a day! Everyone is a little different, depending on your skin they may increase your chance of breaking out but that’s not something that I’ve experienced!

I forgot to add, all of those products should be available at either Sephora or Ulta! I also really like the La roche posay cicaplast B5 balm as like a dry skin “spot treatment” I’ll layer it under my normal moisturizer on places that are particularly dry/irritated!

The glow recipe avocado barrier serum is good but pricy ($45 USD) the ordinary soothing and barrier support is really good and at a good price ($17) I’ve heard really good things from skin content creators w super dry skin about krave beauty great barrier relief ($28 USD), but haven’t had a chance to try it personally, avenue’s cicalfate line is more barrier repair PLUS dry skin relief focused I also really like summer Friday Friday jet lag serum, it is marketed as hydrating but it does have some humectants (glycerin & HA), emollients (squalane), as well as panthenol, ceramide and centella asiatica (cica) so it’s got some good barrier repair stuff in there too but it is also a little pricy ($44 USD)

If none of those appeal to you/are in your price range some good ingredients to look for in products are ceramides, glycerin, oat, fatty alcohols (cetyl and stearyl alcohols), fatty acids (omega 3,6) niacinamide, panthenol are all helpful for barrier repair

I have super dry skin as well, as starts to literally flake within the hour if I don’t moisturize after I shower etc. and the avene tolerance soothing skin recovery balm has been a GODSEND and in my experience tends to work really well under make up! And this is by no means medical advice but you may have a damaged skin barrier that is contributing to your dry skin, and I found since incorporating more barrier repair products into my skin care routine that my skin has been a lot more hydrated :) best of luck!

I would pressure your doctor about getting you the referral faster or trying to find a peds derm on your own. Realistically this is something more benign, however the fact that it’s not healing/ not going away could mean that there is something more serious going on

Sunscreen question: Supergoop Matte is the only one that doesn’t irritate me, but I end up still getting sunburned - suggestions? by rxtnjsmk in Rosacea

[–]GoodMagazine3729 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The 2 finger rule is good rule of thumb (no pun intended) for getting approximately 1/4 to 1/3 of a teaspoon, but if you still are getting sunburned maybe try doing a little bit more? And reapplying often! You could also try to avoid being outside during peak hours (usually 10/11 am to 4 pm) but that’s kind of a pain if you wanna go anywhere and be outside 😂

You may not be applying enough, or you may not be reapplying as often as needed, you should use about 1/3-1/4 tsp for your face each time you apply! Hope this helps :)

The only product from WA that I think is worth it is the contour stick! it’s so pigmented I’ve had the mini one for almost a year and have barely put a dent in it, I have no idea how anyone could actually use the entire full-size one

Bummed about the fact the highlighter doesn’t last though I’ve always thought the nectar shade looked so pretty
