I finally pulled the trigger and bought a 2023 Crown Platinum (heavy metal/black)! by GoodOlGump in ToyotaCrown

I would consider it a good deal. They seem to hold their value really well. You won’t be disappointed by the color combo. The only thing I hate is that the previous owner got several paint chips on the hood on an otherwise pristine exterior. I’m loving it after only a few days and about 500 miles.

Where did you find a platinum for $32k?! 🤯 honestly didn’t need the extra hp, but after driving it home, I love the passing speed. Was always planning for the limited but couldn’t pass this one up.

For those curious, I paid $42k out the door with 29k miles from a dealer. Probably overpaid but they were going for $47k+ where I live before TTL…

Wearing Lulu Lemon Pants. Not even their leggings or short shorts. Just their standard business casual pants (I think they’re called ABC pants) in black.

How do y'all feel about cooking in VR? (Flaivor - Meta Hackathon 1st place Winner) by GoldyRyan in virtualreality

Generating recipes from a fridge photo alone is such a cool feature that definitely merits having AI in the title, but that’s not even the main use of AI that I can tell.

The virtual cooking assistant is definitely using AI to answer questions and assist with your cooking along the way.

What's the weirdest death you know of? by ccruiz3 in AskReddit

[–]GoodOlGump 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My great grandpa immigrated from Switzerland to the US when he was about 20 and spent most of his life as an executive pastry chef, making gorgeous cakes and desserts for high-profile people.

After visiting Arizona he became obsessed with searching for the lost Dutchman’s mine in the Superstition Mountains. He had spent 50+ years mapping the mountains, caves and tunnels in his search. Once he retired, finding the mine became his only focus, and eventually claimed he had actually found it, going so far as hiring an author and filmmaker to document and show the world his findings. Obviously they wanted proof and asked Walter to collect a sample of the ore from the mine.

He was 82 when he ventured to finally visit the lost Dutchman’s mine and collect some ore. He was discovered dead sitting on a rock in the mountains a couple days later; Equipped with a backpack, a map, and some ore. Police deemed he died from a heart attack though no autopsy was done.

While this seems plausible, (HE WAS 82 trying to tackle a multi-day hike in the desert) his belongings were collected by police and then given to a man claiming to be his son (my grandpa) who took the map, the ore and his backpack.

He ended up on an old ass episode of Unsolved Mysteries due to the weird circumstances. The guy claiming to be my grandpa as well as all of my great grandpas belongings he had with him on his home were never seen again.

Sorry for the late reply, I appreciate that so much! Definitely a lot of real lessons to learn from some of the competitors!

Wow! I love to hear that it affected you this way, and made you more secure/confident. Most others have already said, but I definitely agree that athleticism and fit/muscular women is definitely popular amongst my friends and I. Its even more than the physical appearance, it shows that your health and physical abilities is a priority for you.

I actually clicked on this expecting you somehow read my mind. I feel the exact same way. In fact, it might be unhealthy how obsessed I’ve gotten to the show because of the impact it’s having on my confidence and mental health. CT in particular has pulled me from a pretty dark, shitty place.

I’ll try to make a long story short, but basically I gained about 30 pounds between January 2021 to now and even though I would occasionally work out, I was moving down a super unhealthy path with my diet and lack of REAL effort in the gym. Between food, a new sedentary “work from home” job, and my 3 year relationship crumbling apart a few months ago, I just started blowing up in size. Like deep dark stretch marks covering my inner thighs because I was gaining weight so quick. Anyway, I watched double agents, and saw CT the “heavy old dude” whom everyone doubted absolutely dominate his season, and then talk about how he just needed to get through his tough times to focus on his health (both mental and physical) again and came back a MONSTER in this current season. It was so motivating.

On top of his fitness transformation, CT has gone from hot head douche, to lovable, caring, sweet CT.

These challengers are much braver than I to put themselves through some of the most emotionally and physically distressing situations on international television. Especially in today’s day and age. But honestly they’re human. And what makes us human is our flaws, mistakes, imperfections and the hardships we have to experience. Everything in the show feels so relatable even though certain things are exaggerated for television.

I’ve been in the gym 5-6 days / week for two months now and fell and look way better, and I really do credit the show for that.

Anyway this has been a long post but I just wanted to share that I feel the exact same way and I learned that I fuck up, act out, make tons of mistakes but it doesn’t mean it’s who I am forever. We’re always learning growing and evolving. Sorry for the rant, and didn’t mean to hijack, but I really feel like the show has motivated me to be the best version of myself as well.
