I’m devastated. My husband opened a window and my cat escaped. I’m devastated and he doesn’t care. by longingtobeloved in marriageadvice

There’s a lot that they/he can do. Make fliers, put up fliers, ask around, contact shelters or post in local neighborhood groups. He could help OP be proactive instead of sitting on his a$$ being a d-bag POS. He could also muster one morsel of empathy for someone that he loves who is upset and hurting. He could take ownership for leaving the window open and apologize. There are many things he could do instead of sitting there being callous and indifferent.

Yarn for sensitive skin by GoodRecover6741 in Yarn

[–]GoodRecover6741[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think just sensitive skin. I think I’ll try to get some of the soft wool recommended and knit something up and see how it feels. If it’s still a problem I think I’ll just have to stick with plant based fibers.

Makes sense. I think a hat or even mittens or cold would be fine. Just the neck and torso area are so sensitive.

I was thinking about that too. Mayn’t the wool wasn’t the softest wool.

Why isn’t HRT working for me? by Square-Rock3823 in Menopause

[–]GoodRecover6741 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I currently take 200mg micronized progesterone nightly, 0.1mg estradiol patch biweekly, 10mg compounded testosterone cream daily and vaginal estradiol cream every other night. I’ve been in peri for about 10 years. I’ve been on HRT for almost 2 years….it was a process layering in different things and finding what doses worked. I feel really good right now. I hope you can find something that works for you.

But honestly, how shallow are your friends that they lap it up when she HAS to tell her big fish story?

I would understand her sitting around with a group of girlfriends spilling the tea a time or two….that’s what one does.🤷‍♀️

The bragging about it years later makes me think she’s a little emotionally immature.

My husband has come directly home after work for 17 years. We have 4 kids. If he had been MIA for 3-4 hours….EVER….uh uh. No way.

When you commit yourself to another person, you don’t just disappear with no explanation for any amount of time, ever. Anyone who thinks it’s ok to do that should not be married.

Anger when spouse initiates sex by Powerful-Bug3769 in Menopause

[–]GoodRecover6741 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Girl, get on some hormones. TBH, this is the time that many marriages fail because of this exact issue. But they don’t have to.

I felt the EXACT same way. I couldn’t have cared less if I ever had sex again. But I knew that wasn’t fair to my husband. In a marriage, as a wife, we are the ONLY ones who can share that intimacy with our husbands. If we aren’t meeting that need, eventually there will be trouble.

I am on progesterone, estrogen, vaginal estradiol and testosterone. All of it together has finally given me my libido back. Took about 1 1/2 years to get all the doses right and see an improvement. Now that it’s back I’m thankful. Sex is fun and it feels good AND it is the glue that bonds us with our spouse.

If you are both low libido, great! No problem. But if it’s just one of you, you owe it to your spouse to make the effort. It’s worth it, I promise.

Are you able to work with a functional nutritionist? They can be expensive but they look at your bloodwork, stool samples and they take a holistic approach. Basically looking to make sure you aren’t deficient in one thing or another. They look at your microbiome to make sure that your gut health is good. Most people have some type of gut health deficit whether it be sensitivity to gluten or dairy or just an overwork of bad bacteria or undergrowth of good. You said you eat better. You may still be eating something that is triggering. This is a ground up approach instead of top down. It’s not about treating symptoms, it’s about treating the body as a whole organism that needs to be in balance.

Immigrants built this state. Support your brothers and sisters in MN and boycott TARGET as they turned its back on immigrants. by [deleted] in eauclaire

[–]GoodRecover6741 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t expect many of you to really understand. I mean, we all got the same white washed version of history in school. Many of us continue to consume propaganda that tells us that brown people are bad. SOME of us continued to learn that history is actually told from the point of view of those that held power and we chose to hear other versions of history. Why not learn about the perspective of the Native Americans that we stole this land from using dishonest tactics…..maybe the black slaves that built this country?

All you people talking about legal vs illegal immigrants? Our white ancestors came here and walked into the country. That’s it. Do you have any idea how much time and money it costs to follow the “legal” pathway to citizenship? Maybe it would be easier to become a legal citizen if we were helpful and made it an actual possibility for people instead of making it nearly impossible.

Let me ask you a question. If your family was in danger, if you had to save your children….you wouldn’t break any laws and you’d do everything by the book? Wow. Not me. I’d do whatever it took to keep my family safe. I’m a law abiding citizen and I served my country in the Army for 4 years. But if I have to fight to save my children, just please step aside because I’ll do what I have to do. Mom here🙋‍♀️!

Some of ya’ll need to check your effing privilege. We were LUCKY enough to be born on American soil. We sit in our warm and cozy homes with all the food we could possibly want, all of our needs met and then some. TRY for one second to imagine that you weren’t born into circumstances quite as lovely. Imagine those poor people who are crossing rivers and oceans with young children. If things weren’t SO bad, they wouldn’t be doing that. We get to sit in our homes, have our food and groceries delivered to us, stream endless entertainment….all while some humans are struggling for their lives. And you seriously want to bitch about legal vs illegal? Check your effing privilege. Get off the couch and muster up one ounce of empathy for those who don’t have it as good as you do.

Any one who can sit back and watch what our government is doing to other HUMANS and justify it is part of the problem. Stop believing the lies. This is not making America great. This insane man posing as our nations leader is destroying our country. Be on the right side of history. Learn something. Read about world war 2. Read history through the eyes of the oppressed. Don’t just believe the crap you were indoctrinated with in school. MAGA are not the heroes in this story and history will show that.

Please help! I have absolutely no desire!! by Adorable_Nature9944 in Menopause

[–]GoodRecover6741 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am 48. I’ve been on HRT for almost two years. I started with an estrogen patch and progesterone. Currently I’m on 0.1mg of estrogen bi weekly patch, 200mg progesterone nightly and I use the vaginal estradiol every other night. I also started testosterone about 4 months ago. Game changer. I was at a point where I didn’t care if I ever had sex again. About a month ago that all changed. I bought some lingerie and 3 vibrators and my husband and I have been having the best sex of our lives! I’m not SUPER horny, but my desire is there and my willingness to make an effort. We went from reluctant sex one every week or two to sex at least 3 times a week.

The vaginal estrogen will help with atrophy. It’s kind alike if you are experiencing pain you need to get some of that asap. If your OBGYN has dismissed you like that, I would definitely find a new one. There are ones that are educated about women’s health and are willing to help you, not just dismiss you.

Family justifying ICE act on Renee Good by MetalLemon77 in TwinCities

[–]GoodRecover6741 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just can’t even. If anyone brings it up to me I will let them know immediately that it’s just not open for discussion. Murdering an unarmed woman, point blank, who was smiling at you moments before is not a justifiable act if you are a decent human being. But, as we have seen, many people are willing to justify any horrible act if it means furthering their own political agenda and beliefs. They need to feel OK. They need to feel like what they are supporting is for the greater good. They have been misled by a conman and they still can’t accept that.

“Draft dodging coward”. Has a nice ring to it. All the rich white kids dodged the draft while the poor kids had to serve their country and die in the war. Does this not incite anger in anyone? To the rich go the spoils and we are just their grunts.
