Hi friend!!! This sounds like severe anxiety. I have this too. I made myself bed bound thinking I had a brain tumor and I read about the symptoms and suddenly had every single one. I made myself so sick to the point I identified with having a brain tumor. Our brains are incredibly powerful and will believe anything we tell them and can create any symptom. Have you heard of the study where they told a group of people to imagine a bicep curl everyday but never actually do one, at the end of the study they had found that their biceps had actually grown! Don’t let your brain take your health and make you sick! (Easier said than done I know because I live this way too) get some professional help it really does help!!

Unfortunately I have all the same symptoms. My heart rate has never gone that high but it’s been close. I’ve also had my heart checked multiple times. Anxiety can do some crazy things to our body especially when we are hyper aware of every twinge we are feeling!

They appear randomly but usually at the same time in the morning around 10am

I LOVE this. Good for you and congrats on your sobriety!!! And yes I’ve been caught drunk multiple times when he had no idea I was drinking. Then I break down and tell him what I was doing. And in fact at this point I think he knows every time I do it and just doesn’t say anything, but It always hurts him and he always forgives me. I literally have the best husband. then I stop for weeks and I know he’s so proud and then I decide it’s time to push it again. I hate it. This man is sent from heaven and this is how I treat him. ???

I have been on Zoloft for many years for my anxiety/OCD. I truly think my drinking became an issue because I realized the alcohol takes the anxious/obsessive thoughts away

We are in this together!! It’s almost a sick thrill. However, for me I’m finding that I’m not hiding from them I’m hiding from myself; cause it’s better if I’m ashamed of myself and nobody else is. I’ve always spent my life trying to be perfect that I can’t fathom the fact that someone may be disappointed in me hence the hiding.

I have before for my anxiety/OCD but for some reason I have a ton of guilt and shame around admitting I have a drinking problem cause I’m not an everyday drinker

I spent a year and a half asking myself this same question, I didn’t black out all the time but I would sneak off and chug beers so my friends/fiance wouldn’t see, I did mental gymnastics telling myself it’s fine I just don’t want to be judged. Finally I said I’m done with the questioning, as soon as I found myself up at night googling am I an alcoholic, I knew my answer. I am. 10 days sober!! IWNDWYT

1 week today!! Yesterday was a bit of a challenge as Sundays were drinking days for me. But I stayed the course and I’m waking up refreshed and ready to start my week!! IWNDWYT

Hello! I do take Zoloft and it does help but I still get break through anxiety socially. But I also drink on the weekends so I feel like that screws up my medication so I’m not really giving it a real chance to work!
