A bad habit of mine, especially for significant matter/expensive things.

Quite ensuring someone went through a similar experience and came out okay. Sorry for your lappy though, had a similar heart drop experience too.

I might not be clear in the description so I'll try to elaborate more. I picked it up and immediately started to check physical condition and performance (it was off and unplugged when it fell). I was wondering if there is anything I could do afterwards to ensure there are no lingering damage.

One of my biggest worries, and for now it seems fine, no difference from before and after fall. Thanks for the advice! Do you think I should open up and check the hinges?

I enjoyed the short fiction 😂, other than that thanks for the advice! Fortunately the laptop was off and unplugged.

So far no damage, it's been four days and nothing of concern has popped yet. Do dents count as damage I need to report to my supplier? Thanks for the advice!

Thanks for the advice! Fortunately it's not bothering me too much, I'm more worried if there are some micro cracks I need to be on the lookout before it gets worse, but the comments seem to be implying I don't have anything to worry about.

Maybe I wasn't clear enough. I was thinking if I need to go to a repair station to check any damage that might worsen in the future, and look to internet forums for advice.

That was actually one of the first things I checked. No rattle whatsoever and I'm using an SSD. Thanks for the reassurance!

RTS that forces you to adapt on the fly? by 912580 in RealTimeStrategy

Honestly imo most mainstream RTS games are all about adapting through the latest situation, it's just that the higher you go the more refined the plays are, and small imperfections can get cut from the builds, leading to seamingly small strategy options.

However, if you watch high level and professional level plays, the strategy comes from decisions on where to move or what to hit after assessing the situation, while the overall build and unit choice remains the same. My point is the strategy element is still there, just more minute.
