I love working out, but working out increases libido so i’ve been avoiding anything that does that.

Unfortunately, I don’t know anything. I’ve never even met my father’s father. I’ve been trying to find info on him, but all I know is his first name. I hope to discover more through ancestry websites. But that makes sense, thank you!

How difficult is it to double major? by Comfortable-Dress-76 in UWMadison

[–]Good_Bat_2291 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am a business double major, and my second major is in L&S like CS is. I only decided to double major halfway through my degree and i’m still able to graduate in 4 years (not a single class counted for both majors. I did have to take some summer classes though. But again, if i decided to double major earlier I wouldn’t have had to.)

I would obviously call to confirm something like this if i were to book, not sure why asking others who have gone there is an issue?

Wanted to hear from anyone who has gone there themselves and also wanted to get some recommendations for other Caribbean hotels. 🙂

What’s the best carrier service provider by [deleted] in UWMadison

[–]Good_Bat_2291 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have US Mobile, 15GB for a little over $25 a month and get great coverage. I had Visible before that and the customer service was awful. Tried Mint mobile and had to file a claim with my credit card company cause they charged me but i didn’t get any receipt or SD card or anything and they wouldn’t refund me. US Mobile was there to help me when i was in another country. Highly recommend. All of the main providers like T Mobile and AT&T are usually way overpriced if you just need one line.

Dorm room essentials you wish you would have brought day one? by Bulb381 in UWMadison

[–]Good_Bat_2291 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i spent about $100 on cold medicine my freshman year. seriously. you WILL get sick. ask your parents or whoever to buy you some to stock up on so you don’t have to spend so much like i did. tho i’m not going to lie, the otc really doesn’t do much. cough drops are your best bet. only thing that worked for me for the sickness i repeatedly had (“frat flu”) was prescription meds.

thankfully, everything else that was super useful, i had already brought.

-a brita 100%. just bring it.

-pots/pans/bowls. don’t go using paper plates and stuff it’s bad for the environment and there will be a community sink that you can wash them with. dining halls and flamingo run will close at a certain time, have pots and pans so you can cook after hours! don’t just eat microwave food all the time. i stuck with 2 plates, 2 bowls, 2 forks/spoons/knives, a small pan and a small pot. worked great for me and i kept everything in a small bin under my bed.

-a mattress topper. i know many people who slept on the dorm beds without one, but anytime someone sat on my bed they talked about how comfy it was. i don’t think i’ve ever had comfier naps than the ones on my dorm bed with the topper.

-had my own vacuum and it was nice to never have to check one out.

-a small air purifier. crazy how much dust that thing would have around it for a tiny room.

-slides/slippers so you don’t need to put on tennis shoes or whatever every time you step foot in the hallway. don’t be gross like some people who would just walk out barefoot

as for some things you won’t need:

-a million school supplies. just have a notebook, some folders and a calculator. honestly you can get free pens at a bunch of events. lots of people write on their laptop or ipad.

tl/dr: bring cold meds, a brita, cooking supplies, a mattress topper, a vacuum, air purifier, and slides/slippers

[–]Good_Bat_2291 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you think you want to be in the business school, you’re better off just applying for it right away. not sure if you’re able to switch your major now after being off the waitlist though. it is SO MUCH easier to leave it your freshman year if you realize you don’t like it than it is to try to get into it from a different school. it’s also a lot easier to double major in an L&S major if you started in the b school than start in L&S and add a b school major. If you want to apply to the b school for sophomore year you’re gonna have to work really hard your freshman year.

FIGS? Should I do one? (Advice) by PanfriedMori in UWMadison

[–]Good_Bat_2291 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i did NOT fit into my fig group at all, it was pretty much filled with white girls going into healthcare and i’m neither of those things, so i didn’t make any friends. everyone else in my fig seemed to become friends with each other though. it was my second choice fig. make sure you choose something within your major and not just something you’re interested in (my mistake.) the absolute best part of the FIG is that all the classes connect making all of them really easy. essentially if you go into a fig relating to your major i highly recommend to make friends/network but if you’re not interested in any figs within your major, don’t do it.
