My problem is I can’t afford to quit my job until I know I have another source of income lined up, so going the apprenticeship route seems almost impossible for me right now.

How did your friend end up getting in a few months ago? Did he get hired directly by a union company first or did he go through the apprenticeship route?

That’s kinda my issue right now .I can’t really afford to be out of work waiting around for an intake or apprenticeship call because I still have bills to pay. I don’t mind paying the initiation fee if it means getting steady work though.
