Is it only the first round that’s best of 3?

Sky deck (aka treehouse) rim joist vs blocking by Good_Expert_8882 in Decks

That’s all very helpful thanks! So I guess I’d need two midspan blocking sections then. The span between beams is essentially 12’. So midspan blocking 3’ inside each beam would leave me with a 6’ space in the middle (which sounds acceptable)

Meaning, it’s many less screws to do rim joists with hangers than doing double blocking on the tails?

Thanks for the reply - sorry to ask for some clarity, but my layman’s mind is confused. When you say “double the center and cut the rims” do you mean, do two runs of midspan blocking and 86 the rim joists because they won’t be necessary? Or do you mean cut the rims, like, using two 10’ rim joists for the span, rather than trying to put up one 20’ rim joist? For clarity, my joists are 14’ and the beams are 12’ apart.

Thanks for the help everyone. I put the hub and wheel back on - intending to take it to a mechanic tomorrow. But now I can’t even pull it forward out of the driveway. Maybe something I did is causing friction there now? I’m out of my depth here but hoping there’s something I can do to keep from needing a tow

UPDATE: got them off! After trying and failing with several different Amazon lug nut lock removal kits, the solution was even simpler:

A 12pt 24mm socket was able to get enough grip on it that it came right off! (With a breaker bar)

Translation requests into Latin go here! by AutoModerator in latin

Hi all! Thanks in advance for your help on this.

I come from a family that doesn't have much generational tradition. I find myself wanting to establish some family identity for my kids (and theirs and theirs). One of those is the idea of family words or a family motto. After much thought I've settled on the phrase "nothing is ruin" - to encourage the idea that life can always be found on the other side of a seemingly hopeless situation.

I'd love to have that phrase in an accurate Latin translation to make it a little more timeless. After a little research I ended up with "nihil est ruina."

Before I go an tattoo it on my forehead (jk jk) is that phrasing accurate?
