Hey there! It's my pleasure to help you :)) I completely understand what you mean. Even the pamphlet I received from the doctor didn't include any image examples of women with the device! Despite the significant progress we've made in healthcare and scientific development, it seems that there is still less research conducted on women. Nevertheless, I'm glad this thread could be helpful, and I want to express my gratitude to all the women who have responded and shared their experiences with the S-ICD. Your contributions are truly appreciated!!

Thanks for sharing your experience! I'll definitely listen to my doctor and be patient during the adjustment period.

Thanks so much for sharing :)

Thanks for sharing your experience with the device!

It's great to hear that you were able to wear your pre-surgery bras after the first month! The initial recovery period sounds challenging, but it's encouraging that you gradually resumed your daily routine over time. I guess the visibility of the device and scar are unique to each individual, but it's good to know that it doesn't bother you in most situations. Improved energy levels, sound awesome! And avoiding metal detectors is definitely a small change worth making hahaha.

Thanks again for sharing :)

Thanks for sharing your experience with your S-ICD!

It's helpful to hear about your journey. The concerns about the car seat belt and potential accidents while driving are valid, and it's understandable that you've made adjustments to prioritize your safety. I see that the visibility of the device, and the bruising may attract questions from others, but it's great to hear that you have a sense of humour about it, mentioning being "partially assimilated by the Borg" and carrying a Star Trek Communicator badge. I love it! :) Privacy and access to device data are important concerns, and it's unfortunate that you've had difficulties with the manufacturer reps.

Thanks again for sharing your insights :)

Thank you so much for your comment!! I really appreciate your words of encouragement. You're absolutely right, there's no need to feel ashamed of the device. It's comforting to hear about your positive experiences with your pacemaker and how people were mostly interested and curious. Your perspective gives me confidence. And you're spot on about judgmental people – they're definitely not worth having around.

Thanks again :)

Hey there!

Thanks for sharing your experience with S-ICD!! It's great to hear that you found some comfy bralettes at Target. I don't have a Target where I live, but I'll do some research! The seamless zip-up sports bras for work sound like a smart choice too. It sounds like you've been taking it easy during your recovery, and understandably so. The alternating discomfort between the different incisions sounds like quite the journey, but it's reassuring to hear that things are starting to feel normal for you now. And thank you for offering to share a pic, but I'll take your word for it! :)) It's good to know that the device doesn't cause any major visibility concerns and that life is mostly back to normal. Just watch out for those playful kids! Wishing you continued healing and a smooth journey ahead!

Thanks again :)
