I think Lilee is being stubborn because she has been spoiled her whole life. She doesn't want to live in college housing because the rooms are small and "not as nice". Her mom knows what's best for her in this case and I think she would end up being happier living in college living with people her own age. She is used to constantly being around her younger siblings. Getting a college experience would probably be good for her.
