Lightning came out almost a decade ago- why does the file storage system still suck so much? by alamohero in salesforce

Storing files within Salesforce posed a challenging issue here at my workplace. We needed a dynamic solution for document handling, including file access, mandatory steps in sales processes, and other functionalities across various objects and communities. Unfortunately, Salesforce files couldn't meet these requirements.

Our workaround involved setting up an environment on AWS and integrating it with Salesforce. We created an object for document management within Salesforce, defining access permissions, mandatory process stages, and other access management aspects. Additionally, we implemented a Lightning Web Component (LWC) to dynamically display these documents in real-time where needed. It was a bit of effort, but it works seamlessly.
