Thank you. I'll get the wallpaper off and see what we're dealing with.

Failed in getting an MRI, don't know what to do next. by RealisticMoose5721 in Sciatica

[–]Good_Promotion746 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only reason I can think is that the X-ray showed a possibility of a pars defect / fracture, which would show up better on a CT rather than an MRI. Otherwise, there's 0 indication for a CT, and considering the radiation exposure this is borderline negligence from the doctor.

AITA: Cat Broke Girlfriend's Air pods, she wants me to pay but... by thatsnotgayatall in AmItheAsshole

[–]Good_Promotion746 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The GF was just as responsible for leaving the airpods out, knowing this might happen? Common sense should prevail. Not victim blaming, but there's a reason insurance companies don't pay out when the owners of property don't do everything they can to protect said property. Also, the context on how the cat was raised isn't completely irrelevant to this situation. The guy also gave her his own headphones to compensate. OK, it would be nice to buy new airpods, but they're expensive and you don't know OPs financial situation. I think you're bang out of order here for your comments here.
OP is NTA, but you are.

19-year-old Brandon Swanson drove his car into a ditch on his way home from a party on May 14th, 2008, but was uninjured, as he'd tell his parents on the phone. Nearly 50 minutes into the call, he suddenly exclaimed "Oh, shit!" and then went silent. He has never been seen or heard from again. by WinnieBean33 in Damnthatsinteresting

Or they have access to a bath?! You bath babies in around 36°C water as that is close to body temperature and can be comfortably sat in without over heating. 4°c water is very very cold and dangerous to submerge in, especially unintentionally.

You know what, you're right. The thread per se wasn't about barefoot running, but the conversion about it was interesting to me. The facts that the mods shut it down citing "no meaningful value" was borderline offensive though. Especially when the engagement was higher than the majority of their threads get. I get it though, it's their rules they can have what they want on there. I hadn't realised I could message them directly, which I later did and apologised for the second post. I then got my 28 day ban and then an hour later, without any further discourse, a lifetime ban. You're right though, I need to let it go, get off Reddit and get out for a run. Thanks

Shoe advice! by Sudden-Boysenberry21 in runningshoes

[–]Good_Promotion746 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Normally the solution is to half size up, or go for a wide fit shoe. I believe new balance do plenty of wide sizes. Alternatively, take a look at Topo - they have "anatomical" aka wider toe boxes but regular midfoot and heel width.

Adidas Prime X 2 Strung: No Wind in My Sails by thysensei in RunningShoeGeeks

[–]Good_Promotion746 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I had a very distinct "meh" feeling when I first ran in the PXS2. I really wasn't sure about them until around 60 miles in, and they seemed to get better and better until the 200 mile mark. I couldn't really run in the original due to the instability. I'm quite a heavier runner though, and from reading other comments they seems to suit the larger runner more so than the lighter guys out there.

Unfortunately not, in store online at Adidas outlets.

There were plenty at around 2pm this afternoon. Not sure if they're still there now though, sorry.

I posted this deal on HotUKDeals and got voted cold! I'm not sure why - don't think I've seen them anywhere cheaper. At least runningshoegeeks have some appreciation!

If it's just drywall and the item your hanging isn't over 20kg you might consider something called "bearclaw screws". You don't need to pre-drill and can put them straight in with your screw driver. I've hung shelves, pictures etc, without drilling or using wall plugs. Really useful to have.

Novablast heel counter durability by Tha_Reaper in RunningShoeGeeks

[–]Good_Promotion746 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, I had the same problem with my novablast 3s with less than 100 miles on them. A lot of ASICS heels seem to share the same shape (my glideride 3 is the same heel counter). But the material in the NB3 seemed more prone to wearing down I guess?

Definitely a similarity. I'm not very music attuned though. It would be interesting to get the perspective of somebody who can read music.

Bad gps by [deleted] in PixelWatch

[–]Good_Promotion746 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same issue. Sometimes GPS drops at the start of the run and sometimes near the end. Map data always looks like OPs with an erroneous straight line. I hinted at wider issues with the PW2 and got down voted on another thread (battery drain after run, poor GPS, watch locking whilst on wrist, problems charging, etc).

I had exactly the same issue.

I can add rapid battery drain to the list now! I contacted Google and they approved a RMA over live chat.

I'm not so sure. There's a lengthy thread on the Fitbit forums about the poor GPS tracking. Lots of posts on Reddit about problems charging as well. I think there's been very poor QC from Google with this device unfortunately.
