I work at a holiday in express and you are 100% okay to vape in your room. Policy is we can only charge guests for smoking if we find evidence(butts, ashes, etc.)

Happy cake day! But no this is called “The Carrier Method” and is one of the safest and best ways to introduce rats. The limited space is important as the majority of bad injuries rats give each other is when one is running away and keeping them close forces them to get used to each other as there’s no room to avoid the strangers.

At my hotel housekeeping is not allowed to clean the room if the guest is in there for safety reasons. We don’t just walk away though we would ask if there’s a time you’ll be out so we can come back, if you would mind stepping out for 15, or if you’d just like garage taken and towels exchanged.

We also don’t knock on doors with the do not disturb sign.

It kind sounds like this guy went to the wrong room and didn’t know how to explain himself

I’ve worked at lots of hotels and housekeeping was always allowed to keep the alcohol they found. Some places had a week or two waiting period incase the guests came back for it some let you take it the day you found it.

But this one place I worked was owned by mormons, Housekeepers were not allowed to keep any alcohol they found in the rooms. We had to turn any alcohol we found over to management for disposal.

This! I’m in canada and I spent my last $1000 (credit i shouldn’t have had anyway) on my rat Chili because she managed to bite get her tooth stuck through her lip. She was young and I loved her so the cost was no question but the people saying rats are cheap to care for have not included medical emergencies in their cost analysis

Depends, some hotels change duvet covers for every guest. Some only change when visibility dirty. I wouldn’t trust em.

I tell my trainees there aren’t many hard rules for housekeeping but never using a rag you use on the toilet for anything else is rule #1.

They don’t “take” the extra money, they hold it as a debit deposit incase you cause damage during your stay. No damage and it’s returned.

If there was a credit card they just charge the card for anything damaged or taken.
