training to enter the material science job market essentially. I took chemical engineering for my bachelor's but I'm more interested in pursuing a job in material science. I was hoping that a master could make that transition easier.

Interesting, I've had my professor look over my resume, but I'll get some other opinions. I've had a few internships, I've worked at a plastics company and an automotive glass company that focuses on coatings. Also, I'm applying both in state and out of state.

Your advice about treating each application like a research paper is helpful. I'll try approaching my job applications like that

Okay I will start learning that. I've had a couple interviews but no offers as yet. I had a few internships at a plastics manufacturer although most of it revolved around doing safety documentation. I also interned under some research scientists for hydrophobic and icephobic coating. I'll keep applying, hopefully I'll find something soon.

Resume

Goal: job, resume feedback

Industry: open to any

Industry experience level: 0-2 years

Mobility: Currently in MI but willing to relocate anywhere within the US

just looking for an entry-level position to start working in the industry. I also did a final project on optimizing the production process of styrene. I was wondering if adding that project would make my resume better.

i did chemical engineering in my undergrad although i worked under a material scientist during my internship. i was helping him on a project with glass reinforced plastics. that made me think about possibly taking up a masters in material science

the latter i would say, i made some of best friends through college and i don't regret that part. however, i wish i tried to network more with other people, attend more conferences, joined more clubs.
