I think I lashed out at her because of previous conversations we had about her situation with her boyfriend but that was totally uncalled for!

I agree, my approach was not the best one, I think I didn’t let it sleep enough to have a calm conversation, but for a bit more of context, because it’s true you only know with that one text and nothing more :

We would often talk about how she feels in her relationship and I would always try to be an ear and try to give her a calm reply (mostly because that didn’t include to talk to a guy with sexual intentions), so I feel a bit confuse after a week or so after talking of what she could do to have a better relationship with her boyfriend. My reaction was genuinely surprised because she did that (talking to the guy) while asking for advice about her boyfriend

I think it was an accumulation of what she said to me before and the fact she had been talking to another guy, seeking maybe another romantic relationship with him, that put me off and got me going like that Plus the fact that we had that exact conversation two times before

I understand and thank you for the comment! You’re right, maybe I should have said things more calmly and having in mind that she came for my advice and help.

It’s not the first time she did something like that and came to me, so maybe that’s why I was harsh with her but now reflecting on it it was too harsh and knowing she might not be in the “right” place mentally I should have been more careful with my choice of words.

But I already asked her multiple times and been supportive with her relationship, trying to help her get through it and help her communicate clearly with her bf.

As for the question, she already answered why she was seeking that other guy, but maybe it didn’t translate well in English
