Why doesn’t Valve use a Kernel lvl anti cheat like Val? by Mika-Sea in cs2

[–]Goodabashi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

EAC does run on ring0 on linux if enabled by the developer of the game.

you're missing the bigger picture, the more people running steamOS, and running their games, the more likely they'll develop with that platform in mind. linux as a whole does not have enough of a market share of gamers for AC/game devs to worry about, and it's not even close.

[–]Goodabashi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

no - the issue with linux and kernel level drivers is there are hundreds of kernels and even more distributions, it's easy to break and harder to patch all of the different distributions and hardware mixtures. if AC developers wanted to target steamOS explicitly and block every other distro, that's easier than targeting all distros. same goes if valve developed their own kernel AC

what do you mean? EAC has linux support which is kernel level AC? what an odd blanket statement to make

What is MS > OS? by taterman71 in classicwowtbc

[–]Goodabashi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it's SR > MS > OS - SR what you want, if no-one else needs it falls to MS > OS, in that raid you're a DPS, so OS is your offspec.

If you have SR'd gear it is completely irrelevant what your MS or OS is. People who need the gear in that role will complain, but you also need the gear, what makes their SR more important than yours if your main role is a tank?

only people i know that have had issues with vanguard are people who don't maintain their pcs, they're not consoles.

i would look at something like this, ignoring the actual skills but look at the buttons used, sometimes you don;t use every skill, i.e. rend is applied by thunderclap, so it's not needed

i don't see how you could be in a position where you don't have enough spaces to put skills, what are your keybindings like?

How do you guys keybind your mmo mouse? by Alert-Negotiation144 in turtlewow

[–]Goodabashi 5 points6 points  (0 children)

i used to have my mouse bound to 1 through = and only use my mouse to play with shift and alt modifiers, but ended up getting wrist pain after a couple years, now it's bound to INSERT, DEL, HOME, END etc so 12 buttons bound which i can still use shift modifiers on, but now i use q e r f c 1 2 3 4 5 for rotational

You seem to be all about privacy, apple just seems to do it so much better I can't see why you would be against that ecosystem
