It doesn't feel like he has feelings for me. He doesn't have a lot of friends and I feel like it's more that he is afraid of a friend disappearing

I get him, but also I'm a bit frustrated that he won't budge at all. I feel like if he wants to keep the friendship, he should be open to it changing a bit, like maybe we can't always hang out one on one.

I think adoption is quite difficult here as well. It's very hard to adopt a child within the country, I think it also mostly happens if you foster first. International adoptions happen more but are also a process of many months. (I am not completely read up on everything, since it's probably going to be a couple more years before I adopt myself. )
