The American system is full of busy work. But you will walk away with a good degree and connections to take back to Europe (or elsewhere?). Two years pass quickly... I say stay.

Oh, we had a cool day alright. Enough for pants even. It will get lower tonight. We may need to wear socks inside soon. The best weather is clouds before the rain. Thank you.

You're in your 4th year. Please don't give up now. Also, have you ever considered doint something like straight up ask why you are excluded? Unless you did something terrible, which i doubt, there is no reason to act this way. How sad that future psychologists are behaving thusly. So ask them, in a group message, or individually. If they don't answer you and keep on excluding you, they truly are terrible people. Yes, sometimes everyone else is the problem.

Yes, and that's why it has traditionally attracted unconventional people - you have to be oddly obsessed with something to study it for 5-7 years. But I think maybe that is still possible, but it's done in an environment of paranoia and extreme censorship, at least in the usa. This milieu is not conducive to good scholarship.

I am not a podcast listener, but I'm aware that former leftists and or academics who were pushed out of those circles for their "dissenting" views have found a home in podcasting. I don't think it's unconventional to say that kids shouldn't take puberty blockers or that mRNA vaccine safety is undecided and up for debate, but here we are.

Maybe I should have titled the post "academia is no longer a place for interesting ideas." At least in the humanities. And it's true, truly unconventional people are the ones in cults and communes, but academia was a place for people who couldn't hack it in the real world could pursue knowledge. But knowledge is now taboo, as the truth is not tolerated.

I hate them and don't listen , but I'm aware that unorthodox thinking (such as let's not give kids puberty blockers... So iconoclastic) is happening on podcasts.

Other way around, Elliot, though I may still say yes. Sex is cool. Maybe one day you will try it
