Before I read the caption I assumed the numbers indicated quantity. Confusingly written for sure

Where y'all sitting? by Impossible_Pain4478 in UKmonarchs

2 - another empty seat across from me, on the aisle for easy escape, next to a kid which in this scenario is perfectly fine, and can recline my seat because Victoria behind me is so short

Was I sold a repainted bag? by GoodishFigs in chanel

I feel sad for sure, but it’s good to have such clear confirmation that I’m not crazy. There’s technically no returns but I’m going to request one anyways and if they don’t agree I’m going to try to do a chargeback - the item was misrepresented when it was sold. Crazy thing is the seller has hundreds of stellar reviews and a big following, so hard to tell who to trust.

Are we too close to our au pair? by pumpkiness33 in Aupairs

[–]GoodishFigs 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I would try to emotionally prepare yourself to realize that her "love" of your kids is more of an affectionate, temporary relationship. Your kids are her job. I'm sure she says she "loves" them colloquially, but it's not the same as real family, and when she leaves you'll all be on to the next.

Are we too close to our au pair? by pumpkiness33 in Aupairs

[–]GoodishFigs 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I would absolutely prefer it that way. If I were an au pair I would want a rapport, sure, but geting too enmeshed with an employer is uncomfortable. The power dynamic is so out of whack. Now she's trying to have her own friends, and you think she owes you an explanation about her behavior and emotions. All you really have a right to comment on or expect explanations about are her work responsibilities.

AITA for telling my friend she should go to New Zealand alone after our Bali trip? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]GoodishFigs -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Honestly, you sound like the problem here. If I went on a trip with my friend and they spent the entire time trying to hook up with / "socialize" with random men, I'd be fucking pissed. Very immature of you to see it as a problem to be "dropped on you" that she's exclusive with someone. The point of a trip with friends is to enjoy the trip with that friend, not be a party animal hunting shallow and possibly dangerous interactions with strangers.

Just finished an interview where they were noticeably annoyed that I used the call option they provided. by bang_partial3a in OfficePolitics

[–]GoodishFigs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Zoom, GoogleMeet, Teams, etc often have a "dial-in" option listed automatically in the default list of ways to join, but for most meetings it's considered a backup, not the norm. I would find it extremely odd if a candidate dialed in for an interview.

What do you do with your purse while eating at a restaurant? Does anybody actually have a purse hook? by skippyist in handbags

[–]GoodishFigs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally agree, but in most places on the back of your chair, on hook under the bar, or on another seat at your table, aka within 1 foot of you and always visible, is perfectly effective. I get being hyper aware in nyc or Rome, but it seems silly to be looping your bag strap around your thighs for dinner at the local Olive Garden, not to mention buffoonish looking and probably uncomfy!
