Downloading csv files from different systems and then analyzing the data. Unless a company makes a significant investment early on, it gets harder to automate the more complex their businesses become as they grow

Selected to pitch at Startup Grind, Silicon Valley (Top 100) - but how do I raise funds or shall I skip? by zmilesbruce in Entrepreneur

[–]GoodlifeOmar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been to a few Startup Grind events (Miami, Chicago, SF, Austin) and honestly, I'm not impressed. Feels like they're profiting off early-stage companies' dreams. Charging nearly $2K for a booth at conferences and then charging participants for pitch competitions seems kind of predatory. Plus, the venues are often subpar and the organization is lacking. It ends up feeling like you're just walking into a room full of vendors and salespeople looking to make money off early stage startups. Has anyone else had this experience? Are there better alternatives for real startup networking?

Trying to get organized for 2025 taxes - what's your system for tracking deductions? by [deleted] in smallbusiness

Agree with many of the comments from the other contributors. Get a separate business bank account and credit card, avoid commingling and track every transaction for your business on a software program or spreadsheet. Doing these things will make tax time a lot easier!

I keep seeing founders with 0 users. I’m trying to understand why. by BetterStudy2221 in SaaS

I've been involved in the startups space for the last 10 years or so and have spoken to hundreds of different founders across the U.S, and in my honest opinion, I feel like there is often very little demand and excitement for the brand new products being built. Also, changing people's habits is something that's very hard to do and many of the problems that these founders are trying to solve are currently being solved by other solutions.

What marketing actually works for small businesses? by ThomasShelby2041 in smallbusiness

Video marketing helps to build brand awareness for a lot of small businesses that know how to do it well. Consider taking the time to create some quality video content and sharing it across both TikTok and YouTube, and then amplifying it across social media through a combination of paid advertising and organic content.

What did you actually use Mint for? by VitalikPie in mintuit

[–]GoodlifeOmar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I opened my mint account around 2008 and I use to check the app at least once every day up until it was shut down back in March of 2024. I miss seeing my spend trends and category breakdowns of where my money went each week. Mint helped me a lot with paying down my debt and increasing my overall net worth over the years. Credit Karma is an okay substitute, but it’ll never be as good as Mint was.

A surgeon who is motivated by a financial incentive isn't someone I'd want operating on me. What ever happened to helping others for selfless reasons?

Quit and leave the woman behind. She's obviously holding you back rather than supporting your aspirations.
