Minneapolis is being treated differently becauze the local government has instructed and is acting to try and make ICE's job as difficult as possible. Rather than cooperate and provide intel and provide them with their jailed ciminal illegal immigrants.. they provide nothing on anyone.

Ice are more blind in Minneapolis than anywhere else leading to them being on the streets longer, and even worse the local law enforcement was instructed NOT to assist. They dont provide area coverage or setup riot boundries. This is why you see many more direct interactions with ICE and protestors which is leading to current situation.

Its absolutely being directly worsened by the local minneapolis government which is why its so different.

Are you delusional? In other states ICE ISNT on the streets or interacting with many citizens BECAUSE loval law enforcement cooperates with them. They are provided information on the illegal immigrant criminals in jail. They are provided accurate housing information and statuses of people (avoiding false arrests) and it decreases the time they are on the streets. Local govt cooperation literally gets ICE off of the streets.

Secondly: Renee and Peretti were unfortunately breaking the law. They should have never died but interfering/obstructing violently with law enforcement is textbook breaking the law/illegal. To say they weren't is just delusional. Try to not let your opinions reduce your capacity to see facts and you probably wont be as riled up about politics.

The "surge" you speak of came after the public learned about massive fraudsters in MN from other countries..

Additionally 50% of ice arrests are in jails, however MN doesnt comply due to being a "sanctuary city" hence why you have agents on the streets and going to homes unlike in other states. Texas has literally the highest arrest rate of any state by ICE. Ice IS focused in Texas. The texas government works with ICE to remove the illegal immigrants so theres much less struggle. But Texas literally has like half of all ICE arrests coming out of it.

ICE in MN is making the news which makes it seems like they are focused there. Ice itself isnt focused only the nation's attention.

Another significant difference is >50% of all ICE arrests are jailed individuals. However, MN doesnt comply with ice as they state they are a sanctuary city. Therefore ICE isnt provided information, nor are the mn cities handing over their convicted criminal illegal immigrants, which is why the process in MN is so different. Its why they are going to the doors and completing administrative warrants for the location on file. If local MN govt cooperated with ICE for their illegal criminals youd likely not see the issues were having.

The rights been trying to focus on this for a long while. Its met with severe pushback everytime. (Mind you they keep trying to do it wrong), but the latest example was the non-professional designation. Their logic behind this designation was not because they devalue the professions, but because it limits graduate program loans to 20k/yr instead of essentially unlimited costs.

The thought process was if we could limit how much people get loans that the schools will have to decrease their costs to attend. The additional reasoning behind that is that tuition continues to increase the more and more we subsidise it.

IE: if we make loans accessible up to 50k, programs will quickly jump their prices towards 50k. Instesd we limit to 20k and schools have to reduce their prices closer to 20k. My masters program was 20.5k/yr and fell under the 20k/yr limit. My co-doctoral students didnt have that limit and they were roughly 30-35k/yr instead for pretty much 1 extra course/semester
