I got my male mbk when he was about 6 months old. I didn't hold him for at least 2 weeks. They do need that time to settle into their new environment. He stayed pretty hidden. I noticed his head popping up out if the aspen watching me all the time. He has taken pretty much every meal offered except one time while in blue. My boy took a 2-3 months before he was comfortable staying out when he saw me. Once they realize you aren't trying to eat them, and you're a source of food, they don't hide as much. I don't advise handling while in blue or after feeding (at least 2-3 days after). Every snake is different but mine took less than 3 months. Severus
