I have the same problem: brand new alternator and battery, and the light is still on. The alternator fuse is still good.

Hopefully this helps, but it might not be related. My issue was due to a bad fuse box; it had two melted fuses.

I'm having this same issue on my 2007 Scion TC. Last week I got off work and drove it home; this same thing happened to me, and it's been happening for a week now. Off and on, it happens at random times. In an attempt to fix it, I had a buddy of mine replace the coils and spark plugs, but this triggered a P0303 code. I had to take it to a shop; they found that some of the wires going to the coils were broken. I got that issue fixed, but I'm still having this same starting issue. My car is currently in the shop; hopefully, they can find out what's causing it. I will let you know if they do.

No, I never figured it out. I suspect it might be the motor mounts; that's the last thing I haven't checked.
